	Allan Sidebottom Allan Norman Sidebottom (born 1 January 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. Sidebottom was already 24 when he began his VFL career in 1983, having played for Swan Districts in Western Australia since 1977 and played in their 1982 premiership team. His elder brother, Garry Sidebottom, had also played at Swan Districts before joining St Kilda. A ruckman, Sidebottom played only nine games in his first season for St Kilda but was a regular fixture in the side the following year after the retirement of Jeff Sarau. He played 21 of a possible 22 games in 1984, took 99 marks, the third most by a St Kilda player and polled well in the 1984 Brownlow Medal count to finish equal eighth. After making another 17 appearances in 1985, Sidebottom played just eight more games over the next one and a half seasons and midway through crossed to Fitzroy. 	Steele Sidebottom Steele Sidebottom (born 2 January 1991) is a professional Australian rules football player currently playing for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League. Sidebottom was selected by Collingwood with selection 11 in the 2008 AFL Draft. Sidebottom had a 10-goal best-on-ground performance in the 2008 TAC Cup Grand Final. He is strong overhead and in one-on-one contests. An AIS/AFL Academy graduate and Vic Country representative in 2008, Sidebottom also was selected in the All-Australian team following the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships. A midfielder, Sidebottom became a star player for Collingwood. He has won the Copeland Trophy twice as the club's best and fairest ( 2017, 2018) and also played in a premiership in 2010. 	William Sidebottom (RAF Officer) Lieutenant William Sidebottom (11 October 1893 – 8 December 1920) was a British World War I flying ace credited with fourteen aerial victories. Military service Sidebottom joined the Royal Naval Air Service on 11 October 1917, and after completing his flying training was posted the No. 3 (Naval) Squadron to fly the Sopwith Camel single-seat fighter. On 1 April 1918, the RNAS was merged with the Army's Royal Flying Corps to form the Royal Air Force, and Sidebottom's unit was renamed No. 203 Squadron RAF. He scored his first win on 16 June 1918, sharing the destruction of a DFW two-seater reconnaissance aircraft with Lieutenant Edwin Hayne and three other pilots. He then accumulated a series of victories between then and 29 October 1918, sharing in the destruction of two reconnaissance aircraft with Captain Leonard Henry Rochford and the mid-air burning of another with Captain Arthur Whealy.
