Sibby Sisti
Sebastian Daniel "Sibby" Sisti (July 26, 1920 – April 24, 2006) was an American Major League Baseball utility player. Playing career Sisti stood 5' 11" (180 cm) tall and weighed 175 pounds (79 kg). His perseverance in the face of numerous injuries made him a fan favorite. Known for his versatility, Sisti played every position except pitcher and catcher during his major league career. At the age of 18, Sisti made his Major League Baseball debut with the Boston Bees on July 21, 1939, just five days before he turned 19, then remained with the club (later known as the Boston Braves (baseball), Boston Braves) through 1942, after the beginning of World War II. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1943 to 1945. Sibby Nichols
Sebastian John "Sibby" Nichols (August 10, 1884 – January 20, 1957) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played 110 games in various amateur and professional leagues, including the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association and Pacific Coast Hockey Association. Amongst the teams he played with were the Montreal Shamrocks, Vancouver Millionaires, Victoria Aristocrats, Spokane Canaries, and Seattle Metropolitans. He also played lacrosse with the Vancouver Lacrosse Club. Biography Nichols started out playing hockey in Montreal, Quebec where he represented the Montreal Shamrocks, Montreal Light Heat Power, and Montreal Astor-Canadien in different leagues. In the 1910–11 season he also played for the Moncton Victorias of the IPPHL and Belleville of the EOPHL, before moving out west to Vancouver and the Vancouver Millionaires in the PCHA for the 1912 season. Sibby Flowers (born 1963) is a former Olympic style weightlifter for the United States. Her coach was John Coffee. She competed at the 44 kg then the 46 kg (after the weight classes were restructured) weight classes and holds the American records for the snatch (67.5 kg), clean & jerk (85 kg), and total (147.5 kg). The weight classes were restructured again when women were added to the Olympic program, thus Sibby holds all of her records in perpetuity. Sylvie And Bruno
''Sylvie and Bruno'', first published in 1889, and its second volume ''Sylvie and Bruno Concluded'' published in 1893, form the last novel by Lewis Carroll published during his lifetime. Both volumes were illustrated by Harry Furniss. The novel has two main plots: one set in the real world at the time the book was published (the Victorian era), the other in the fantasy world of Fairyland. While the latter plot is a fairy tale with many nonsense elements and poems, similar to Carroll's ''Alice'' books, the story set in Victorian Britain is a social novel, with its characters discussing various concepts and aspects of religion, society, philosophy and morality. Origin Two short pieces, "Fairy Sylvie" and "Bruno's Revenge", originally appeared in ''Aunt Judy's Magazine'' in 1867. Some years later, in 1873 or 1874, Carroll had the idea to use these as the core for a longer story.
