Siam University (SU, Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยสยาม) is a university located on Phet Kasem Road in Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok. Siam University was founded by the late Narong Mongkhonvanit as a three-year private engineering school in 1965. In 1973, Siam University, then known as Siam Technical College, was formally established as a higher education institution with authorization to grant degrees. Later in 1986, Siam Technical College became Siam Technical University, a full-fledged private, non-profit university. Three years later, the name was changed again to Siam University to reflect the diversity in the fields of study offered. In 1995, the international college was established. Currently, over 400 international students from more than 15 countries are enrolled in the international college of Siam University. History The School of Medicine, Siam University, is the second private medical school in Thailand. It was established in 2013 by a group of doctors. Its first semester began in August, 2013 under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dr. Chookiet Asawanich, Dean of Medical Faculty, with advisers such as Dr. Amorn Lelarasamee and Dr. Chaleum Warawit. On 17 February 2013, Police General Hospital agreed to be the main site of clinical practice for the new medical program. Privy Council Of Thailand
The Privy Council of Thailand ( th, คณะองคมนตรีไทย, khana ongkhamontri thai) is a body of appointed advisors to the Monarchy of Thailand. The council, as the Constitution of Thailand stipulates, must be composed of no more than eighteen members. The council is led by the President of the Privy Council of Thailand, currently occupied by former Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont since 27 May 2019. The king alone appoints all members of the council. The council's offices are in the Privy Council Chambers, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. In recent years the council and its president in particular, have been accused of interfering in politics. The Thai script ( th, อักษรไทย, ) is the abugida used to write Thai, Southern Thai and many other languages spoken in Thailand. The Thai alphabet itself (as used to write Thai) has 44 consonant symbols ( th, พยัญชนะ, ''phayanchana''), 16 vowel symbols ( th, สระ, ''sara'') that combine into at least 32 vowel forms and four tone diacritics ( th, วรรณยุกต์ or วรรณยุต, or ) to create characters mostly representing syllables. Although commonly referred to as the "Thai alphabet", the script is in fact not a true alphabet but an abugida, a writing system in which the full characters represent consonants with diacritical marks for vowels; the absence of a vowel diacritic gives an implied 'a' or 'o'.
