Shwmae Sumae Day
Shwmae Sumae Day (Welsh: ''Diwrnod Shwmae Sumae'') is a day marked each year in Wales to celebrate and promote the Welsh language. ''Shwmae'' and ''Sumae'' are informal greetings used in the south and the north North is one of the four compass points or cardinal directions. South Wales ( cy, De Cymru) is a loosely defined region of Wales bordered by England to the east and mid Wales to the north. Generally considered to include the historic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire, south Wales extends westwards to include Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
