Shuysky
The Princes Shuisky (russian: Шуйские, Shuyskiye) was a Rurikid family of Boyars descending from Grand Duke Dimitri Konstantinovich of Vladimir-Suzdal and Prince Andrey Yaroslavich, brother to Alexander Nevsky. The surname is derived from the town of Shuya, of which the Shuiskys gained ownership in 1403. From 1606 to 1610, Vasili Shuisky ruled as tsar over Russia during the Time of Troubles. Early service in Muscovy The foundations for their fortunes in Muscovite service were laid by Prince Vasily Vasilievich "Bledny" ("the Pale"), who was dispatched by Ivan III to govern Pskov and then Nizhny Novgorod (1478–80). The following year, he devastated Livonia and was sent as a governor to Novgorod. In 1487, he was recorded as leading a Russian contingent against Kazan. Dmitry Shuisky
Prince Dmitry Ivanovich Shuisky was a Russian boyar from the Shuisky family, a younger brother to Vasily IV of Russia. As a playmate of young Tsarevich Feodor Ivanovich, Dmitry was said to accompany him day and night in his devout wanderings from monastery to monastery. In 1584, his slandering of Prince Ivan Belsky led to riots in Moscow. Two years later, he was attested as a governor of Kargopol. On Fyodor's accession to the throne, he quarrelled with another boyar, Boris Godunov, and was expelled to his family patrimony in Shuya. Later he made peace with Godunov and married his sister-in-law. Shuisky is best remembered as a singularly incapable general. He was routed by False Dmitry I in 1606 and shared disgrace and imprisonment with his brother Vasily. When the latter was elected Tsar, he put Dmitry in charge of the army which would lose its every battle against the Polish invaders and their allies. Prince Mikhail Vasiliyevich Skopin-Shuisky (russian: Михаил Васильевич Скопин-Шуйский) (8 November OS (18 November NS) 1586 – 23 April OS (3 May NS) 1610) was a Russian statesman and military figure during the Time of Troubles. He was the last representative of a cadet branch of the Shuysky family. Life Having lost his father, Vasili Feodorovich Skopin-Shuisky, at an early age, Mikhail Skopin-Shuisky was educated by his mother. Vasili IV Shuisky (russian: Василий IV Иванович Шуйский, ''Vasiliy IV Ivanovich Shuyskiy'', c. 155212 September 1612) was Tsar of Russia between 1606 and 1610 after the murder of False Dmitri I. His rule coincided with the Time of Troubles. He was the only member of House of Shuisky to become Tsar and the last member of the Rurikid dynasty to rule as tsar. Mikhail Shuisky (baritone)
Mikhail Grigorievich Shuisky (Russian: Михаил Григорьевич Шуйский), (13 November .S. 1 November1883 – 11 September 1953) was a opera and concert singer. He sang leading baritone roles in Austria, Germany and Russia during his 40-year career. After his retirement from the stage, he taught singing. He was born in Novogeorgievsk. He studied first at Saint Petersburg Conservatory, then at Vienna Conservatory from 1905 to 1909. He sang leading roles at the Vienna Volksoper and the Landestheater Linz (where he was known as Michael Shuisky) and had signed long-term contracts to sing in Salzburg and Hamburg before the outbreak of the First World War. When war broke out, he returned to the Russian Empire, where he completed his career. He was a leading baritone in the Theatre of Opera and Drama in Saint Petersburg; Kiev Opera and Ballet Theatre; Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre; and the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre. Shuysky District (russian: Шу́йский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the administrative divisions of Ivanovo Oblast, twenty-one in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia.According to Law #145-OZ, the borders of the administrative and municipal districts are identical. Law #52-OZ lists the inhabited localities included in the municipal district. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is .
