Shuwaikh
Shuwaikh ( ar, الشويخ) is a seaside district of Kuwait City in Kuwait. It comprises eight blocks. Shuwaikh also has an industrial area, a port, a commercial area, a healthcare area and an education area; all of which form their own census-designated districts. Area The area of Shuwaikh is partly industrial and partly rural. This area offers Souq al-Juma which is a Friday market that sells many things such as furniture, clothes, animals, new and used goods, and much more. Shuwaikh is commonly recognized for the Shuwaikh port which is Kuwait's most important port because it contains a power station and water desalination which supplies all of Kuwait city. Shuwaikh Port
Shuwaikh Port ( ar, ميناء الشويخ, transliteration : ''Minaa' Shuweekh'') (Coordinates:29°21′9″N 47°55′31″E) is an urban industrial area within the Al Asimah Governorate (Capital Governorate) in Kuwait City, Kuwait. A number of Kuwait's ports, educational institutions, hospitals and several offices are hosted in the area. The major cargo ports are in Shuwaikh Port. In the 2011 census, 185 people were recorded as living in the district. The port is bordered by the industrial area, Shuwaikh proper, the educational district and the commercial district. Shuwaikh Industrial Area The core industrial area of Al-Shuwaikh (Coordinates: 29°21′N 47°57′E / 29.35°N 47.95°E / 29.35; 47.95) contains the Friday market (Souq al-Juma) at Al-Rai place (Fourth Ring Road). Shuwaikh Industrial Area ( ar, الشويخ المنطقة الصناعية) is an area of Kuwait City in Kuwait. It comprises three separate districts: Shuwaikh Industrial-1, Shuwaikh Industrial-2, and Shuwaikh Industrial-3. Kuwait City ( ar, مدينة الكويت) is the capital and largest city of Kuwait. Kuwait is divided into 6 governorates (''muhafazah''). The governorates are further subdivided into areas. The governorate is headed by a Governor appointed by a ministerial decree for a period of 4 years which can be renewed upon the proposal of the Prime Minister.
