Shukor Salleh
Dato' Abdul Shukor bin Salleh (born 4 December 1948) was a key midfield player for the Malaysia national football team during the 1970s. He was often called the "Mr.Cool" and "Malaysia Ardiles" of the Malaysian national team for the way he steered the Malaysian midfield with calm and composed way. He won the Malaysian National Sportsman Award in 1977 for his contribution to the national team. Furthermore, he was the second and the last football player after Mokhtar Dahari to be given that award. He was inducted into the FIFA Century Club in May 2021. Tanjung Bungah (also spelt as ''Tanjong Bungah'') is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northern coast of Penang Island between Batu Ferringhi and Tanjung Tokong, and about northwest of the city centre. Burnley Cup or Piala Razak is a defunct youth football competition for under-19 players in Malaysia. History On 25 January 1961, Mr.Choo Seng Quee, Malaya national football team coach departed to England to study football training techniques. That trip was made under a personal arrangement by FAM president Tunku Abdul Rahman with a British Council bursary. When Mr. Choo Seng Que arrived in England, he was sent by the English Football Association as guests to Burnley F.C and Sheffield F.C. After a six-month coaching course in England, on 14 June 1961 when he was about to return to Malaya, he was awarded two trophies to be given to the FAM to hold local football tournaments for youths; the Burnley Cup for under-19 and the Sheffield Cup for under-15. The Stadium Merdeka (also known as Merdeka Stadium/; English: Independence Stadium) is a stadium based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
