Shuhei Hoshino
, nicknamed Jumbo, is a Japanese professional footballer currently playing as a forward for Singapore Premier League club Albirex Niigata (S). Shuhei is the current all-time top goal scorer of Balestier Khalsa. Career Albirex Niigata (S) Shuhei signed his first professional contract for the White Swans after leaving Ryutsu Keizai University. By late July 2018, and with 3 more months to the end of the season, Hoshino's 18 goal tally has helped the White Swans wrap up the 2018 Singapore Premier League title. Hoshino eventually scored 19 goals that season and won the Top Goalscorer award. Shuhei was also selected for the 2018 Sultan of Selangor Cup and scored in the match, which ended a 1–1 draw; with the Singapore selection losing 5-3 on penalties to Selangor. Balestier Khalsa Football Club is a Singaporean professional football club that competes in the Singapore Premier League. Founded in 1898, the club is considered as the oldest football club in the country. The Singapore Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Singaporean football. Established in 1998, it is the foremost football cup competition in the country. It is open to clubs in the Singapore Premier League. Since 2005, foreign teams from other countries in Southeast Asia are occasionally invited to compete in the Singapore Cup. Chonburi Province FC from Thailand was the first foreign club reaching the final in 2006 (they lost 3–2 in the final to local club Tampines Rovers). The 2023 Singapore Cup will be the 24th edition of the Singapore Cup, Singapore's annual premier club football knock-out tournament organised by the Football Association of Singapore. Hougang United is the defending champions, having won the tournament in 2022 after defeating defending champions Tampines Rovers 3–2 in the final to win their inaugural Singapore Cup.
