''Shrink'' is a 2009 American independent black comedy-drama film about a psychiatrist who treats members of the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, California. It was directed by Jonas Pate, written by Thomas Moffett, and stars Kevin Spacey and along with an ensemble cast. The film premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and includes music by Jackson Browne. Plot In Hollywood, Psychiatrist Dr. Henry Carter (Kevin Spacey): most of Carter's patients are luminaries in the film industry, each undergoing their own life crisis. Carter lives in a large, luxurious house overlooking the Hollywood Hills and has published a hugely successful self-help book. However, he is disheveled and lives alone in his large house. He smokes marijuana at home, in his car and behind his office, when not seeing patients. Jonas Pate
Jonas James Pate (born January 15, 1970) is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He wrote and directed ''The Grave'', '' Deceiver'', '' The Take'', and directed '' Shrink''. Pate also co-created '' Good vs Evil,'' ''Surface'' and ''Outer Banks'' Early life Jonas Pate was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and is the twin brother of fellow filmmaker Josh Pate. Pate's parents divorced when he was young, and the siblings were raised through elementary school with their mother and step-father in Atlanta, Georgia, and through high school with their father and step-mother in Raeford, NC. Jackson Browne
Clyde Jackson Browne (born October 9, 1948) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and political activist who has sold over 18 million albums in the United States. Emerging as a precocious teenage songwriter in mid-1960s Los Angeles, he had his first successes writing songs for others, writing "These Days" as a 16-year-old; the song became a minor hit for the German singer and Andy Warhol protégé Nico in 1967.
