Matrikas (Sanskrit: मातृका (singular), IAST: mātṝkās, lit. "divine mothers") also called Matar or Matri, are a group of mother goddesses who are always depicted together in Hinduism. The Matrikas are often depicted in a group of seven, the Saptamatrika(s) (Seven Mothers). However, they are also depicted as a group of eight, the Ashtamatrika(s). The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a statutory body, and a national-level council for technical education, under the Department of Higher Education. Established in November 1945 first as an advisory body and later on in 1987 given statutory status by an Act of Parliament, AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India. Department of Architecture and Landscape Design (formerly School of Architecture and Landscape Design), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is located in Kakryal Village near Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, Katra town of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir. It is the only Architectural college in Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir, it is one of the most important institutions in the India ranked 26 by NIRF in India under Architecture Category. The School of Architecture was started in the year 2006. Dr. C.L. Razdan was the founding director of the department. It currently offers a five year Bachelor of Architecture course.
