Show Me The Telly
''Show Me the Telly'' is a British game show that aired on ITV from 25 November to 20 December 2013 as a winter replacement for '' Tipping Point'' and was hosted by Richard Bacon with Chris Tarrant as team captain. Format The game consists of four rounds; the first three rounds see the 'TV Lovers' compete with the 'TV Legends' in order to win additional time for the fourth round; the fourth round then sees one of the 'TV Lovers' compete against the clock to win the daily £3,000 prize. Switch On The first round, Switch On, is a clip-based round. An on-the-buzzer question is asked to the team captains to determine the order of play. The teams then alternately pick from six programme categories given. The Only Way Is Essex
''The Only Way Is Essex'' (often abbreviated as ''TOWIE'' ) is a British reality television series based in Brentwood, Essex, England. It shows "real people in modified situations, saying unscripted lines but in a structured way." Originally broadcast on ITV2 from 2010, the series was moved to ITVBe in October 2014. The first series consisted of 10 episodes and ran for 30 minutes, with a Christmas special following later in the year. Due to popularity, the runtime was extended to 45-minute episodes and renewed for a year's airing. On 22 May 2011, the series won the Audience Award at the 2011 BAFTA Awards. On 13 March 2016, ITVBe aired a one-off documentary hosted by former cast member Mark Wright, discussing the history of the series. A quiz is a form of game or mind sport in which players attempt to answer questions correctly on one or several specific topics. Quizzes can be used as a brief Educational assessment, assessment in education and similar fields to measure growth in knowledge, abilities, or skills. Pointless
''Pointless'' is a British television quiz show produced by Banijay subsidiary Remarkable Television for the BBC. It is hosted by Alexander Armstrong. In each episode four teams of two contestants attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions with the winning team eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot. All questions used on the show are factual in nature and are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a pre-conducted public survey. A correct answer scores one point for each survey subject who gave it and the objective is to achieve as low a score as possible. "Pointless" answers are correct responses that were not given by anyone surveyed, score zero points and are the most desirable. Every pointless answer given during the main game increases the jackpot by £250 and the team that reaches the final round has three chances to win it by giving one such answer. Wipeout (UK Game Show)
''Wipeout'' was a British television quiz show for BBC One, based on the original American programme of the same name. First shown on 25 May 1994, it ran for nine series: the first four of which aired at primetime and were hosted by Paul Daniels; and the last five at daytime and hosted by Bob Monkhouse, with the final episode airing on 17 April 2003, 8 months before Monkhouse died on 29 December 2003. Format During the game, correct answers would be replaced by a golden star on a black circle, whereas "wipeouts" (wrong answers) would be replaced by the blue and yellow Wipeout "W". This was used in the Daniels version. In the Monkhouse version, green ticks were used for correct answers and red Xs for wipeouts. ''Stars in Their Eyes'' is a British television talent series, based on Joop van den Ende's Dutch format ''Soundmixshow''. It featured a singing contest in which members of the public impersonate showbiz stars. The show premiered on 21 July 1990 and initially ran until 23 December 2006.
