The film was produced by Sister Productions in France, Kwassa Films in Belgium, and Aneva in Armenia. The film was selected for the 73rd edition of the Cannes Festival. The film was screened in the 2020 Angoulême Francophone Film Festival. The film was screened as part of Industry Selects at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival. 2020 Cannes Film Festival
The 73rd annual Cannes Film Festival was scheduled to take place from 12 to 23 May 2020. On 13 January 2020, Spike Lee was named as the president of the Jury. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in France, festival management announced on 14 April 2020 that the festival could not be held in its "original form", with alternative means of observing the festival being explored. It was cancelled for the first time since 1968. Earlier, festival management considered holding the festival in June or July, after not cancelling the event. Stepanakert Airport ( hy, Ստեփանակերտի Օդանավակայան), referred to as the Khojaly Airport ( az, Xocalı Hava Limanı) in Azerbaijan, is an airport in the town of Ivanyan (Khojaly), 10 kilometers north-east of Stepanakert, the regional capital of the ''de facto'' Republic of Artsakh, ''de jure'' part of Azerbaijan. The airport, in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, has been under the control of the republic since 1992. Flights ceased with the escalation of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1990. In 2009, the Armenian authorities began the reconstruction of the facilities.
