Men's 10 metre air pistol was one of the fifteen shooting events at the 1996 Summer Olympics. The defending champion, Wang Yifu, set an Olympic record of 587 points in the qualification round, taking a two-point lead. His lead increased during the final up to the last shot, where he scored a mere 6.5, and then fainted. Wolf Creek Shooting Complex
The Wolf Creek Shooting Complex, now known as the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds, is a shooting range located southwest of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, in Fulton County, Georgia, Fulton County. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, it hosted the Shooting at the 1996 Summer Olympics, shooting event. Until 2002, it was also often used for ISSF World Cup competitions in rifle and pistol events, although such competitions, when held in the United States, have now reverted to being carried out at Fort Benning. The venue is now owned by the Parks & Recreation Department of Fulton County. It has 20 trap shooting, trap and skeet shooting combination fields, and nine lighted areas. The facility has been host to several NSSA State and Zone skeet tournaments. The range is also home to recreational shooting leagues such as the Atlanta Skeet and Trap League. Vigilio Fait (born 14 October 1962 in Rovereto, Trentino) is an Italian sport shooter. Since 1997, Fait had won a total of ten medals (three golds, four silver, and three bronze) for both air and free pistol at the ISSF World Cup series. He also captured a silver medal in the men's 50 m pistol at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, accumulating a score of 662.8 points.
