"Shoot It Out" is a song written and recorded by the American alternative metal band 10 Years for their fifth studio album, '' Feeding the Wolves'', which is their third major release under Universal Records. It was released as the album's first single. On June 12, 2010, "Shoot It Out" was played on Sirius/XM Radio. The track was released to radio in late June, and was made available to download on iTunes July 6. Background The song is one of the heaviest of the record and it is also one of the heaviest songs 10 Years did so far, as they mentioned that ''Feeding the Wolves'' would be their heaviest material to date. 10 Years is an American alternative metal band formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1999. The band consists of lead vocalist Jesse Hasek, lead guitarist Brian Vodinh, rhythm guitarist Matt Wantland, bassist Chad Grennor, and drummer Luke Narey. The group has gone through multiple line-up changes since their inception, with Vodinh and Wantland being the only remaining founding members. To date, they have released ten studio albums, their most recent being ''Descontructed'' in 2022. Screaming is an extended vocal technique that is popular in "aggressive" music genres such as heavy metal, punk rock, and noise music and others. It is common in the more extreme subgenres of heavy metal, such as death and black metal as well as many other subgenres.
