Karl Thomas, better known as ShockOne, is an Australian electronic music producer and DJ born in 1982. Originally from Esperance, Western Australia, he now resides in Perth. He has been releasing music as ShockOne since 2005, producing a wide variety of dance genres including drum and bass, dubstep, drumstep and electro house. History Beginnings Karl Thomas was a drummer and in high school when he met and formed a metal band (called Xygen) with Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen (the two who would later become Pendulum and eventually Knife Party) and Jay Burns. When Pendulum started in the early 2000s, Xygen finished, and so Thomas started making electronic music of his own, under the alias of ShockOne. A Dark Machine
''A Dark Machine'' is the second studio album by Australian producer ShockOne. Warner Music Australia and Canadian record label Monstercat released the album on 1 August 2019. Background The album was announced through a tweet from Monstercat. The first single through the label, "Run" featuring Italian electronic music act The Bloody Beetroots, was released on 27 June 2019. A music video for the single was released on the same day. He has been releasing records since 2007 and currently is one of the top drum and bass producers in the world, with 650,000 monthly listeners on Spotify as of spring 2022. Phil and Dan Brookes, otherwise known as the Brookes Brothers, are two London-based drum and bass producers. History In 2006 they surfaced with "Portal" / "Desert Island" on Danny Wheeler's W10 imprint. This was followed by "Verano", a collaborative effort with Nick Douwma, otherwise known as Sub Focus. In 2007, the Brookes Brothers were exclusively signed to DJ Fresh and Adam F's label Breakbeat Kaos. The 2021 AIR Awards is the fifteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards).
