Shock Me
"Shock Me" is a song by American heavy metal band Kiss, which first appeared on their 1977 album ''Love Gun''. It was written by lead guitarist Ace Frehley, who made his lead vocal debut. The song was inspired by an event that took place during Kiss' ''Rock and Roll Over'' tour, when he was nearly electrocuted. It was ranked #50 in ''Guitar World'' magazine's "100 Greatest Guitar Solos Ever". Background On December 12, 1976, Kiss performed a concert at the Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida. During the opening number, Frehley touched a metal staircase railing, which was ungrounded. He was knocked to the ground, and the concert was delayed for 30 minutes. The show was eventually completed, and Frehley claimed to have lost feeling in his hand for the remainder of the concert.Gooch, Curt and Jeff Suhs. George Peter John Criscuola (born December 20, 1945), better known by his stage name Peter Criss, is a retired American musician, best known as a co-founder, original drummer, and vocalist of the hard rock band Kiss. Criss established The Catman character for his Kiss persona. In 2014, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Kiss. Early years Criss was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Loretta and Joseph Criscuola, who raised their five children (of whom Peter was the eldest) as Roman Catholics. ''Retrospective'' is a double-disc compilation of Red House Painters' songs from the band's 4AD era. The compilation was released in July 1999. Disc one is a collection of definitive Red House Painters tracks culled from their debut album '' Down Colorful Hill'' through 1995's '' Ocean Beach'', as picked by 4AD label owner Ivo Watts-Russell. Disc two, subtitled ''Demos, Outtakes, Live (1989-1995)'', is a collection of unreleased demos and live recordings from their 4AD years. Shock Me EP
''Shock Me'' is an EP by American slowcore band Red House Painters. It was released in the UK only in 1994 on CD and 12" vinyl by record label 4AD. Recording ''Shock Me'' was recorded and mixed at Coast Recorders, San Francisco in 1993. Additional recording took place at Razor's Edge, also in San Francisco. Content The EP contains two versions of the song "Shock Me," a Kiss cover. The EP went out of print shortly after its initial release. The tracks later surfaced on the reissued edition of '' Red House Painters (Bridge)'', released in 1999. The "untitled instrumental" hidden track is actually an instrumental version of "A Million + 8 Things", a song from the early Red House Painters demo tapes (dated 1991-1992).
