Shis
Shis ( ar, شيص) is the name of a settlement to the East of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the westernmost district of Khor Fakkan Municipality. The village of Shis was previously accessed only by a track leading from the East Coast up the Wadi Shis, a seasonal watercourse that passes through the Omani exclave of Madha and the Emirati exclave of Nahwa, itself enclosed by the Omani exclave. The village is now reached by the Khor Fakkan road. Wadi Shis
Wadi Shis is a wadi, a seasonal watercourse, in the Hajar Mountains of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The wadi passes through the mountain village of Shis, before making its way through the Omani exclave of Madha, the Emirati exclave of Nahwa (part of Sharjah), through Madha again and down to the east coast. Like many of the wadis of the Hajar Mountains, Shis can be dangerous during and following periods of rain and in 2020 four UAE nationals lost their cars to flash flooding in the wadi. The village is the site of an integrated recreation facility, constructed to highlight the natural beauty of the area. It was opened in October 2020. Shees Park Sharjah
Shees Park (or Shis Park) is a recreational park near the village of Shis in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates. The park was constructed in 8 months. It covers an area of 11,362 m2, has a 25-meter-high artificial waterfall and includes 506 meters of walkways throughout three mountain terraces connected by stone stairs leading to the main viewing platform at a height of 30 meters from the main park level. It includes a children's play area, 32 shaded seating areas for families, an outdoor theater that can accommodate 70 people and a barbecue area. It was inaugurated by the ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, on 15 October, 2020. Khor Fakkan
Khor Fakkan ( ar, خَوْر فَكَّان, Khawr Fakkān) is a city and exclave of the Emirate of Sharjah, located on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), facing the Gulf of Oman, and geographically surrounded by the Emirate of Fujairah. The city, the second largest on the east coast after Fujairah City, is set on the bay of Khor Fakkan, which means "Creek of Two Jaws". It is the site of Khor Fakkan Container Terminal, the only natural deep-sea port in the region and one of the major container ports in the UAE. Nahwa
Nahwa is a territory that forms part of the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. It is a counter-enclave (or second-order enclave) within the Omani territory of Madha, which is itself an exclave of Oman and an enclave within the United Arab Emirates. To access the village of Nahwa, one has to take the northernmost road into the Madha enclave south of Khor Fakkan and follow the signs to New Madha. From New Madha, there is a paved but winding road (about ) leading to Nahwa. Entering Nahwa, there is an Emirati police outpost some after the boundary marker. The village itself is further up the road, on the same side as the police outpost. It consists of about 40 buildings and has its own clinic. The Omani territory of Madha ( ar, مَدْحَاء, madḥāʾ) or ''Wādī Madḥāʾ'' ( ar, وَادِي مَدْحَاء) is an exclave of the Musandam Governorate, enclaved by the United Arab Emirates (UAE); inside it, there is a second-order enclave: Nahwa, which is part of the UAE Emirate of Sharjah.
