The Shire of Yackandandah was a local government area about northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed from 1862 until 1994. History Yackandandah was incorporated as a road district on 8 August 1862, and became a shire on 30 December 1864. It was originally created with a larger area, but it lost land to the Shire of Chiltern in two transfers; on 14 May 1913 and 30 May 1917. Accessed at State Library of Victoria, La Trobe Reading Room. On 18 November 1994, the Shire of Yackandandah was abolished, and along with parts of the Shires of Beechworth, Chiltern and Rutherglen, was merged into the newly created Shire of Indigo. The Hume is an economic rural region located in the north-eastern part of Victoria, Australia. Comprising an area in excess of with a population that ranges from (in 2011) to (in 2012), the Hume region includes the local government areas of Alpine Shire, Rural City of Benalla, City of Wodonga, City of Greater Shepparton, Shire of Indigo, Shire of Mansfield, Shire of Strathbogie, Shire of Towong and the Rural City of Wangaratta, and also includes five unincorporated areas encompassing the alpine ski resorts in the region. Tangambalanga, Victoria
Tangambalanga , or Tangam for short, is a town in north-eastern Victoria, Australia. It is approximately south-east of the regional centre of Wodonga, in the Kiewa Valley, and from the Hume Weir. The residential district located near the intersection with the Kiewa Valley Highway is known as "Kiewa", with Tangambalanga proper beginning on the other side of the small valley flood plain. At the , Tangambalanga had a population of 439. The town's name is derived from the Dhudhuroa word for the white clawed lobster, Murray crayfish. Kergunyah, Victoria
Kergunyah is a locality in north eastern Victoria. The locality is on the Kiewa Valley Highway, north east of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2016 census Kergunyah had a population of 215. The town is a centre for (mainly) dairy farms and includes a post office agent, caravan park and general store, community hall and Uniting Church. The Kergunyah Streamside Reserve is a popular swimming area on a bend in the Kiewa River. The town was home to the Kergunyah Football Club which was established in 1923. They competed in leagues including the ''Allans Flat District Football Association'', the ''Yackandandah Football Association'', the "''Dederang and District Football Association'' and the '' Tallangatta and District Football League''. The Alpine Shire is a local government area in the Hume region of Victoria, Australia, located in the north-east part of the state. It covers an area of and in 2022 had a population of 13,235. It includes the towns of Bright, Dinner Plain, Mount Beauty and Myrtleford. There are two unincorporated areas within the shire: the areas around Mount Hotham and Falls Creek. Dederang is a town in north east Victoria. The town is located on the Kiewa Valley Highway, in the Alpine Shire Local government in Australia, 329 kilometres from the state capital, Melbourne. Dederang is located in the Kiewa River valley. At the 2006 census, Dederang and the surrounding area had a population of 422. Dederang Post Office opened on 1 September 1877 and closed in 1977.
