Shin Choon-ho
Shin Choon-ho (; December 1930 – 27 March 2021) was a South Korean businessman who founded Nongshim. Biography Shin was born in December 1930 in Ulju County, Ulsan, Korea and was the third eldest son in the family. His older brother Shin Kyuk-ho was the founder of South Korean conglomerate Lotte Corporation. He graduated from Dong-A University in Busan in 1958 after serving as a police officer. He moved to Japan to help his brother with Lotte's confectionery business shortly afterwards. Shin founded Lotte Industrial Company, his own business separate from the existing company, in 1965 to focus on the ramyeon business. In 1978, he renamed the company Nongshim, which means "farmer’s heart," after his brother objected to his proposal to produce instant noodles. Shin (Korean Name)
Sin or Shin is a Korean family name. It is cognate to the Chinese family names Shēn (surname), Shēn (申) and Xīn (surname), Xin (辛). According to the 2000 census in South Korea, there were 911,556 people with the surname ''Sin''. Clans There are three Hanja, Chinese characters that can be read as ''Sin''. Shin Ramyun
Shin Ramyun is a brand of instant noodle (including Instant noodle#Korea, cup ramyeon) that has been produced by the South Korean food company Nongshim since 1 October 1986. It is now exported to over 100 countries, and is the best-selling instant noodle brand in South Korea. Shin Ramyun, well known for its spicy flavor, is produced in at least four varieties: the original Shin Ramyun and Shin Ramyun Black, which was introduced in 2011 as well as Super Spicy, which was released in 2019, and, finally, a shrimp flavor that is only available in China. A standard package of Shin Ramyun consists of noodles, a packet of flavoring powder (soup base), and a packet of vegetable flakes. Yeongsan Shin Clan
The Yeongsan Sin clan or Yeongsan Shin clan () is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan (clan location) is in Changnyeong County, South Gyeongsang Province. According to some of the most recent research as of 2015, the number of members in the Yeongsan Sin clan was 187426. Origin The founder of the Yeongsan Sin clan was Sin Gyeong () via the Xin sect (). Sin Gyeong was a descendant of Yu Shen (), the son of King Qi of Xia. Hailing from the Longxi Commandery, Sin Gyeong entered Goryeo as one of the Eight Scholars () of the Northern Song Dynasty. He passed the Imperial examination in 1138 and was appointed as ''Jinzi Guanglu Daifu'' () and ''munha sirang pyeongjangsa'' (). Seoul National University Hospital (서울대학교병원) is one of the oldest and biggest hospitals in South Korea. It is a general and teaching hospital of Seoul National University's College of Medicine. Neoguri (instant Noodle)
Neoguri ( ko, 너구리 lit. Raccoon dog) is a brand of ramyun produced by Nongshim in South Korea since 1982. It is exported to over 80 countries, and is the fourth highest selling brand of noodles in South Korea. It is well known for its thick noodles and its spicy seafood flavour. The Korean version has a big piece of kombu, while the U.S. version does not have the kombu in it.
