Shimmerplanet
Shimmerplanet, an Indie band created by Soren Anders, released their debut album "Welcome To Shimmerplanet" in 2002. The Songwriters Hall of Fame bestowed special recognition on the first single from that album "No Safe". Welcome To Shimmerplanet was hailed as "one of the most original and enjoyable releases in recent memory" (Gregg Shapiro, Windy City Times). 2006 saw the release of Shimmerplanet's second studio album "For The One Who Kills Tomorrow". The 60's pop icon Lesley Gore appears as a guest vocalist on one of the tracks, "Siren". Gore is one of three singers (including Anders) heard on the album; Avant-garde New York vocalist Carolyn Eufrasio returns in her role as Shimmerplanet's Yin, singing lead on many of the new songs. Soren Anders
Soren Anders (born John T. Fischer) is an American composer, singer, record producer and instrumentalist from southern Illinois. He is the creator of the multi-award winning band Shimmerplanet. Early life Anders has said that as a child, he spent a lot of time outdoors, growing things and getting dirty. A bit of a hippy, he subscribed to ''Organic Gardening'' magazine when he was eight years old. He spent much of his early years playing the piano and violin, drafting maps of imaginary cities, and escaping into endless hours of TV watching. At the age of 16, Anders turned off the TV for good, and wrote his first piece, a terribly melancholy instrumental composition for solo piano. In college, Anders committed himself to the piano, studying under the acclaimed principal pianist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Mary Sauer. ''Hope and a Little Sugar'' is a 2006 Indian English-language film shot in New York City and directed by Tanuja Chandra. It premiered and won an award on 6 October 2006 at the ''South Asian International Film Festival'' in New York. A welcome is a kind of greeting designed to introduce a person to a new place or situation, and to make them feel at ease. The term can similarly be used to describe the feeling of being accepted on the part of the new person. In some contexts, a welcome is extended to a stranger to an area or a household. VH1 (originally an initialism of Video Hits One) is an American basic cable television network based in New York City and owned by Paramount Global. John Buffalo Mailer (born April 16, 1978) is an American author, playwright, actor, producer, and journalist. Life and career Mailer was born in Brooklyn, the youngest child of novelist Norman Mailer and author Norris Church Mailer. Mailer is a graduate of Wesleyan University. He has written several screenplays and is a freelance journalist. In 2006 he co-wrote ''The Big Empty'' (Nation Books, February '06) with his father. Mailer founded Back House Productions in New York City with three other Wesleyan grads in October 2000. Christopher Stein (born January 5, 1950) is an American musician known as the co-founder and guitarist of the new wave band Blondie. He is also a producer and performer for the classic soundtrack of the hip hop film '' Wild Style'', and writer of the soundtrack for the film '' Union City'', as well as an accomplished photographer.
