Shim (band)
Shim is a hard rock band fronted by former Sick Puppies lead vocalist Shimon Moore. The band formed after Moore's departure from Sick Puppies which he fronted from 1997-2014. On May 16, 2018, the band released their debut single "Hallelujah". Following the single, they made a debut performance at Rock on the Range on May 20, 2018. On September 14, 2018, the band released their eponymous debut album, ''SHIM''. Moore described the record as "definitely a solo record" when interviewed by Loudwire stating that most of the material was produced in his bedroom. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. Blues Rock
Blues rock is a fusion music genre that combines elements of blues and rock music. It is mostly an electric ensemble-style music with instrumentation similar to electric blues and rock (electric guitar, electric bass guitar, and drums, sometimes with keyboards and harmonica). From its beginnings in the early to mid-1960s, blues rock has gone through several stylistic shifts and along the way it inspired and influenced hard rock, Southern rock, and early heavy metal music, heavy metal. Sick Puppies is an Australian alternative metal band formed in Sydney, New South Wales in 1997. After releasing their debut album '' Welcome to the Real World'' in 2001, the band rose to prominence in 2006 when their song " All the Same" was uploaded, along with a video, to YouTube. The video supported the Free Hugs Campaign, which was launched in Sydney, and has since received over 78 million views on the website. This success was followed up with their second studio album, '' Dressed Up as Life'' in 2007, which entered the ''Billboard'' 200 at number 181. Shimon "Shim" Moore is a rock music songwriter, producer, performing artist, as well as a TV and film actor. Shimon was born on November 11, 1982, in Sydney, Australia. Acting career He began his acting career at the age of nine when he was cast for an ice cream commercial which led to other commercial roles including Kellogg's and McDonalds. At the age of ten he became interested in music and began learning to play instruments and writing songs. Rock On The Range
Rock on the Range was an annual rock festival that was held at two locations. The first and main location was in Columbus, Ohio, United States at Mapfre Stadium (originally Columbus Crew Stadium; renamed in 2015) from 2007 to 2018, while the other was in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at the Canad Inns Stadium from 2009 to 2011. Rock on the Range debuted in Columbus on May 19, 2007, and in Winnipeg on June 27, 2009. The Columbus festival was always held in May, while the Winnipeg festival was pushed back to August in 2010.
