Shillong Chamber Choir
The Shillong Chamber Choir was founded in Shillong, Meghalaya, in 2001. It received fame after winning the reality talent show India's Got Talent (Season 2) in October 2010 on Colours TV, part of the Got Talent (India) franchise, where it performed western chorals and choral-style revamps of Bollywood classics. The choir consists of 11 singers and occasionally a 30-piece orchestra. They are based in Shillong, Meghalaya, which sits in the North-Eastern part of India. The choir participated in the 6th World Choir Games held at Shaoxing China (Shanghai) in July 2010 and was awarded Gold diplomas in all three categories: Musica Sacra, Gospel, and Popular. 42nd International Film Festival Of India
The 42nd International Film Festival of India was held on 23 to 30 November 2011 in Goa. The International competition (Feature) was chaired by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, and Short film competition was chaired by Basu Bhattacharya. For the first time the 42d IFFI had launched its own poster with a depiction of fest motif "Peacock", made as a "dancing peacock" by veteran film design and art consultant Thotta Tharani. The IFFI signature film was conceptualized by veteran film maker Shaji Karun. New sections such as “Kaleidoscope”, 3 D, Animation, European discoveries, Master Classes and Russian Classics were included, along with the inaugural Best Director Award. Zakir Hussain (musician)
Ustad Zakir Hussain (born 9 March 1951) is an Indian tabla player, composer, percussionist, music producer and film actor. He is the eldest son of tabla player Alla Rakha. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1988, and the Padma Bhushan in 2002, by the Government of India presented by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, President Abdul Kalam. Chandrayaan-2 (, ; ) is the second lunar exploration mission developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), after Chandrayaan-1.
