Shikar (1968 Film)
''Shikar'' () is a 1968 Hindi thriller film produced and directed by Atma Ram. The film is a murder mystery that became a box office hit and its songs were also big hits. It stars Dharmendra, Asha Parekh, Sanjeev Kumar, Helen, Rehman, Johnny Walker, Bela Bose, Ramesh Deo in pivotal roles. The music of the film was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan and its songs were penned by Hasrat Jaipuri. Asha Bhosle won the Filmfare award for best Female Playback singer, for the Arabic tuned song ''"Parde Mein Rehne Do'', while Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle sang the duet song ''"Jabse Laagi Tose Najariya"''. Atma Ram (director)
Atma Ram Padukone (1930–94) was Hindi film and TV director born in Calcutta. He was the younger brother of legendary film maker Guru Dutt. Personal life His father Shivshankar Padukone was a clerk at Burmah Shell and his mother was a teacher. He grew up with his three brothers – Guru Dutt (filmmaker), Devi Dutt (producer) and Vijay (advertising) - and his sister Lalitha Lajmi. He studied at the University of Bombay (1952). After doing some clerical work he joined the Socialist Party (1948–50).He was an active trade unionist and secretary of the Press Workers’ Union. Krishna Kalle
Krishna Kalle ( kn, ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ ಕಲ್ಲೆ; 18 December 1940 – 15 March 2015) was an Indian playback singer in Marathi, Hindi, and Kannada films. Childhood Kalle's family was from Karwar, Uttara Kannada. She was born and grew up in Kanpur, where her father was employed. At the age of 16, she began singing over the Kanpur station of All India Radio (AIR) and at stage performances in Uttar Pradesh, the state where Kanpur is located. Career When Kalle came to Mumbai to visit relatives, the singer Arun Date happened to hear her sing. Impressed, he introduced her to music director Yashwant Deo, who was then employed at the Bombay station of AIR. Deo composed a Marathi song that Kalle recorded, ''man pisaat majhe''. The song proved popular and started her journey as a Marathi singer. Mahendra Kapoor
Mahendra Kapoor (9 January 1934 – 27 September 2008) was an Indian playback singer. In a long career spanning decades, his repertoire included popular songs such as ''Chalo ekbaar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono'' ( Gumrah) and ''Neele Gagan ke tale'' (Hamraaz). His name however became most closely associated with patriotic songs including Mere Desh Ki Dharti in Manoj Kumar's film Upkaar.
