Shigefumi Hino
Shigefumi Hino (日野 重文 ''Hino Shigefumi'', born 1963) is a Japanese graphics designer, game director and planner from Nintendo. He is the creator of Yoshi from the ''Yoshi'' franchise. Hino later served as the director of the ''Pikmin'' series, alongside Masamichi Abe. Career Shigefumi Hino joined Nintendo in 1989, where his first project was designing a sequel to '' Famicom Grand Prix: F1 Race'', which was ultimately unreleased. His first released product was ''Super Mario World'' in 1990, where he created the game's pixel art, as well as the character Yoshi, based on a rough sketch by Takashi Tezuka. Afterwards, Hino had the idea for a game with Yoshi as the main character, which would become '' Yoshi's Island''. He chose a hand-drawn visual style to differentiate it from Rare's ''Donkey Kong Country'', a game that notably used pre-rendered 3D graphics. Pikmin (video Game)
is a 2001 real-time strategy puzzle video game developed and published by Nintendo for the GameCube. The game was created and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, and is the first entry in the ''Pikmin'' series. The game's story focuses on an alien pilot, Captain Olimar, who crash lands on a mysterious planet and must make use of a native species called "Pikmin" to find his ship's missing parts in order to escape within 30 days. Players take control of Olimar and in directing the different varieties of Pikmin to exploring the game's various levels, overcoming obstacles and hostile creatures, in order to find and recover the missing ship parts. The game was a critical and commercial success and spawned a series of sequels, starting with '' Pikmin 2'', which was released in 2004. Mario Party (video Game)
is a party video game developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It was released in Japan in December 14, 1998, in North America on February 8, 1999, and in Europe and Australia on March 9, 1999. The game was targeted at a young audience.
