Shifty Powers
Staff Sergeant Darrell Cecil "Shifty" Powers (13 March 1923 – 17 June 2009) was a non-commissioned officer with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Powers was portrayed in the HBO miniseries '' Band of Brothers'' by Peter Youngblood Hills. The 2011 book ''Shifty's War'' by journalist Marcus Brotherton, published by Penguin/ Berkley-Caliber, captures Sgt. Powers' full life story. Powers was one of the twenty contributors to the 2009 book '' We Who Are Alive and Remain: Untold Stories from the Band of Brothers''. Early life Powers was born in Clinchco, Virginia. Clinchco is a town in Dickenson County, Virginia, Dickenson County, Virginia, United States. The town, formerly known as Moss, was named for both the Clinchfield Railroad and the Clinchfield Coal Corporation. Robert Wynn (soldier)
Sergeant Robert Emory "Popeye" Wynn Jr. (July 10, 1921 – March 18, 2000) was a non-commissioned officer with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army during World War II. Wynn was one of the 140 Toccoa men of Easy Company. Wynn was portrayed by actor Nicholas Aaron in the HBO miniseries '' Band of Brothers''. Youth Robert Wynn was born on July 10, 1921. He was from South Hill, Virginia, in Mecklenburg County. In 1941, Wynn attended a machinist course at a vocational school in Norfolk. There he befriended Darrell "Shifty" Powers. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Wynn and Powers along with others in the vocational school were shipped to Navy Shipyard at Portsmouth to work on the battleships. Carwood Lipton
First Lieutenant Clifford Carwood Lipton (30 January 1920 – 16 December 2001) was a commissioned officer with Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, during World War II. On the battlefields of Europe, he was promoted to company first sergeant and was awarded a battlefield commission to second lieutenant. He has said "it was the greatest honor ever awarded" to him. He eventually earned a promotion to first lieutenant before leaving the army. He was featured in the 2010 book ''A Company of Heroes: Personal Memories about the Real Band of Brothers and the Legacy They Left Us'', and portrayed by Donnie Wahlberg in the HBO miniseries ''Band of Brothers''. Aldbourne ( ) is a village and civil parish about north-east of Marlborough, Wiltshire, England, in a valley on the south slope of the Lambourn Downs – part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
