Sherwood is a neighbourhood of the city of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown in central Queens County, Prince Edward Island, Queens County, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Sherwood is centrally located in Charlottetown on the border of Queens Royalty, Prince Edward Island, Queens Royalty and the township of Lot 33, Prince Edward Island, Lot 33. Originally the settlement was known as Sherwood Station, as it was located on the mainline of the Prince Edward Island Railway running from Charlottetown to Royalty Junction (where the line bifurcated east to Mount Stewart, Prince Edward Island, Mount Stewart and west to Emerald, Prince Edward Island, Emerald. West Royalty, Prince Edward Island
West Royalty is a neighbourhood of the city of Charlottetown in central Queens County, Prince Edward Island, Canada. History West Royalty was originally a farming community in the western part of Queens Royalty, from which it derives its name. It was officially designated a settlement in 1939 and it became a village in 1980. It was amalgamated into the City of Charlottetown on April 1, 1995. Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League
The 'Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League'' is a Junior "C" ice hockey league in Prince Edward Island, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The league was known as the Prince Edward Island Minor Junior Hockey League until 2009. The winner of the playoffs competes in the Maritime-Hockey North Junior C Championship. History In 2015 the South Side Lynx won their first league championship and then proceeded to be the first PEI representative to advance to the Maritime-Hockey North Junior C Championship final game. In the championship game the Lynx played against the Baffin Blizzard with both teams vying to be the first team from their province/territory to claim a Maritime-Hockey North title. The Baffin Blizzard prevailed, winning 6–5. After a one-year absence a Summerside team, now known as the Crunch, was announced as returning to the league for the 2016–17 season. Island Junior Hockey League
The Island Junior Hockey League is a Junior "B" ice hockey league in Prince Edward Island, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. History Since being founded in 1996, the IJHL has been strictly a Junior "B" League—one tier below the Maritime Junior A Hockey League and two tiers below the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League which both draw from the same region. The IJHL shares its name with the former Junior "A" league that played in the same region, the Island Junior Hockey League. In 2002, the O'Leary Eagles won the Don Johnson Cup as Maritime Junior B champions. Nine years later, in 2011, the Kensington Vipers repeated the act as Maritime champions, following up their success again in 2013.
