John Sheran
John Sheran (born 8 August 1960, in Torphins) is a Scottish former association football, football player and manager (association football), manager. Sheran made over 300 playing appearances in the Scottish Football League for Montrose F.C., Montrose. He was appointed assistant manager of the club in 1998 and became their manager in 2000. Sheran was sacked by Montrose in October 2003. He then managed Highland League club Cove Rangers F.C., Cove Rangers. He was appointed manager of Peterhead F.C., Peterhead in March 2011, but was sacked in September after the team started the 2011–12 in Scottish football, 2011–12 season badly. On 10 May 2014 Sheran rejoined Cove Rangers to become their new manager. Cove won the Highland League in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. Shortly after the team was presented with the 2018–19 championship, Sheran suffered a heart attack. Kathy Sheran
Kathleen J. "Kathy" Sheran (born May 18, 1947) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represented District 19, which included portions of Blue Earth, Le Sueur, and Nicollet counties in the south central part of the state. Early life, education, and career Sheran is the daughter of Robert Sheran, who is a former chief justice and associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. She graduated from Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights in 1965, then attended the College of Saint Teresa in Winona, receiving her B.S. in Nursing. She later earned her M.S. degree at Mankato State University (now called Minnesota State University). Nicholas Sheran
Nicholas Sheran (1841–1882) was an entrepreneur born in New York City. He spent his early years apprenticing as a printer, working on Arctic whalers, and serving in the United States Army. History After his service in the American Civil War, Sheran followed a fellow soldier (Joseph Healy, a member of the Kainai Nation who was adopted by the Healy family) to Montana where he worked as a prospector and trader. In 1870, he went north in search of gold to Fort Whoop-Up, a whiskey-trading post started by Healy's older adoptive brother John J Healy near what is now Lethbridge, Alberta where he found coal instead. While in the area, Sheran started a ferry service across the Belly River (now Oldman). In addition, he also mined coal from a seam in the nearby coulees and sold it to traders who came to the fort. With this, Sheran was responsible for the creation of Alberta's first commercial coal mine. He was able to sell his coal for $5 a ton according to a later newspaper article; ... Robert Sheran
Robert J. Sheran (January 2, 1916 – January 25, 2012) was an American lawyer, politician, and judge. He was appointed Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court by Governor Wendell Anderson, serving from December 1973 to December 1981. He previously served as an associate justice on the court from January 1963 to July 1970, appointed by Governor Elmer L. Andersen. He is the only person to have been appointed to two separate tenures on the Minnesota Supreme Court by different governors. Early life and education Sheran graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1932, then attended St. Thomas College in Saint Paul, receiving his B.A. in 1936. He went on to the University of Minnesota Law School, graduating with his LL.B. in 1939. Career He worked as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1942-1945, guarding the secrets of the Manhattan Project.
