Shenendehowa High School
Shenendehowa High School (often shortened to Shen High School) is a public high school in Clifton Park, New York, United States. It is part of the Shenendehowa Central School District. Students are separated between two buildings (East and West) by their grade levels. Both buildings are located on the district's main campus off of NY 146. The recently expanded East building houses 10th through 12th graders, while the West building houses only 9th graders. It is the largest public school district in a suburban area in New York State. History The original high school was built in the early 1950s, the building that is now Gowana and Acadia Middle Schools. Shenendehowa High School East began operation in 1970, teaching grades 9-12. Twenty-nine years later, in 1999, Shenendehowa High School West would open in the previous Koda Middle School building, to move grade 9 and half of grade 10 out of the east building. New York State Route 146
New York State Route 146 (NY 146) is a state highway in the Capital District of New York in the United States. It extends for from Gallupville at NY 443 to near Mechanicville at U.S. Route 4 (US 4) and NY 32. NY 146 is a major thoroughfare in the city of Schenectady, just outside Albany. Most of the route follows an east–west alignment; however, the middle third of the route between Guilderland and Clifton Park runs in a more north–south manner in order to serve Schenectady. At one time, NY 146 had three spur routes; only one— NY 146A—still exists. NY 146 was assigned as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York. At the time, NY 146 began at modern NY 443 in Berne and followed what is now NY 156 northeast to Altamont while modern NY 146 west of Altamont was part of NY 156. Ian Anderson (baseball)
Ian Theodore Anderson (born May 2, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). Anderson was selected out of high school by the Braves with the third overall pick of the 2016 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in 2020. Anderson won a World Series ring in 2021 as a member of the Atlanta Braves. Amateur baseball Anderson played in the 2013 14-and-under Babe Ruth League World Series in Moses Lake, Washington, with his team from Clifton Park, New York. Murphy Smith
Murphy Smith (born August 25, 1987) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2018 season. Career Smith attended Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, New York, and Binghamton University, where he played college baseball for the Binghamton Bearcats. Damian Silvera
Damian Troy Silvera (July 27, 1974 – June 14, 2010) was an American soccer player who was a member of the 1996 U.S. Olympic soccer team. He also spent a season and a half in Major League Soccer. Youth and college Silvera grew up in Huntington, New York and attended Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, New York where he played on the boys soccer team. In his junior and senior years, he was named as an All-American high school player. He won two NY state championships and a national championship while at Shenendehowa. After graduating from high school, Silvera attended the University of Virginia where he played as a midfielder on the men's soccer team from 1992-1995. Greg Koubek
Greg Koubek (born March 15, 1969) is an American retired basketball player best known for his collegiate career at Duke University between 1987 and 1991. He also played professionally overseas after college for several years. Early life A native of the greater Albany, New York area, Koubek attended Shenendehowa High School from 1985 to 1987 in Clifton Park. He led the basketball team to a state championship as a senior in 1987 and later became the first athlete in school history to have his jersey number retired.
