Virginia High School League
The Virginia High School League (VHSL) is the principal sanctioning organization for interscholastic athletic competition among public high schools in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The VHSL first sponsored debate and also continues to sponsor state championships in several academic activities. Private and religious schools and teams of homeschooled students belong to other sanctioning organizations, the largest of which is the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association. Proposals in the Virginia General Assembly to mandate that the VHSL allow homeschooled students to compete for the public high school they would otherwise attend have failed to pass. Page County High School
Page County High School is a public secondary school located in Shenandoah, Virginia. The dedication of the original building in 1961 brought together students from the former Shenandoah and Stanley high schools. It holds grade levels 9-12 (freshmen through seniors) and has an enrollment of approximately 550 students. The feeder school is Page County Middle School, which is in turn fed by Shenandoah Elementary and Stanley Elementary schools, and formerly Grove Hill Elementary School. Page County High School has an auditorium with a capacity of approximately 700 people, a gym with retractable bleachers on two sides, a full library, a cafeteria that feeds students in two 25 minute blocks each day, and three computer labs. Fishersville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. The population was 7,462 at the 2010 census, an increase of nearly fifty percent from the 4,998 reported in 2000. It is part of the Staunton– Waynesboro Micropolitan Statistical Area. Fishersville is also home to Barren Ridge Vineyards (on the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail), winner of the 2009 Best in Show wine at the Virginia State Fair. Wilson Memorial High School
Wilson Memorial High School is a public school located in Fishersville, Virginia. The school is named after the 28th President of the United States, Thomas Woodrow Wilson, who was born in nearby Staunton, Virginia. WMHS, home of the Green Hornets, is located in the Woodrow Wilson Complex, which consists of the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center, Augusta County Public Schools Board offices, Valley Vocational Technical Center, Shenandoah Valley Governor's School, Wilson Elementary School, and Wilson Middle School. History The school's first class began on 11 September 1947 after Augusta County acquired a portion of the land used by the United States Army's former Woodrow Wilson General Hospital during World War II. Stuarts Draft is a census-designated place (CDP) in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. It is part of the Staunton– Waynesboro Micropolitan Statistical Area and adjacent to the South River. Its population was 12,142 as of the 2020 census. Stuarts Draft has a history as an agricultural community, dating back to the 1730s. Stuarts Draft High School
Stuarts Draft High School is in the community of Stuarts Draft in southeastern Augusta County, Virginia. The school opened in 1970 during a consolidation period for the county's public schools. Stuarts Draft High School originally served grades 8 through 12, and housed the 7th grade due to overcrowding at Stuarts Draft Elementary School (now Guy K. Stump Elementary School). Today, Stuart Draft High School serves 720 students in grades 9 to 12. Stonewall Jackson High School is a public high school located in Quicksburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States. It is home to almost 625 students, in grades 8–12. The school is part of the Shenandoah County Public School System. Mike Dorman is the current principal. On July 9, 2020, the Shenandoah County School Board voted to rename the school to Mountain View High School.
