Shen Jong-chin
Shen Jong-chin (; born 1951) is a Taiwanese politician. Education Shen obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Provincial Taipei Institute of Technology and master's degree in commerce automation and management from National Taipei University of Technology. Political career Shen led the Export Processing Zone Administration prior to heading the Industrial Development Bureau in 2012, succeeding Woody Duh. Shen became vice minister of economic affairs in 2014, again replacing Duh. He took office as deputy minister of economic affairs on 20 May 2016, with the Lin Chuan cabinet. He served as acting minister following the resignation of Lee Chih-kung in August 2017, and was retained by premier Lai Ching-te. Lee Chih-kung
Chih-Kung Lee (C.K. Lee; ; born October 1959 in Taipei) is a Taiwanese mechanical engineer. He received his B.S. degree in civil engineering from National Taiwan University and then obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University, majoring in theoretical & applied mechanics, with a minor in physics. He is known as the inventor of modal sensors and actuators. 2020 Kaohsiung Mayoral By-election
The 2020 Kaohsiung mayoral by-election was held on 15 August 2020 following a successful recall attempt. The registered candidates were Chen Chi-mai representing the Democratic Progressive Party, Li Mei-jhen representing the Kuomintang, and Wu Yi-jheng representing the Taiwan People's Party. Chen Chi-mai won the by-election by a landslide margin with slightly over 70 percent of the votes. He replaced acting mayor on 24 August 2020. Background The by-election followed a successful recall attempt against Kaohsiung mayor Han Kuo-yu on 6 June 2020. By law, the Central Election Commission (CEC) was mandated to announce the results of the recall vote within seven days of the vote itself. William Lai Ching-te (; born 6 October 1959) is a Taiwanese politician who has been the Vice President of the Republic of China, Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since 2020.
