Shem Tov Levy
Shem Tov Levi ( Hebrew: שם טוב לוי, born 4 February 1950) is an Israeli singer, pianist, flautist, composer and producer. He is one of the most influential musicians in the music culture of Israel. During his long career, Levy has released solo albums, alongside working with many musicians, including Arik Einstein, Esther Ofarim, Yehudit Ravitz, Rivka Zohar, Arik Sinai, Yitzhak Klepter, Gidi Gov, Ofra Haza, Dikla, Shlomo Gronich. Biography He studied at Tel Aviv University and Berklee College of Music in Boston. He started his professional career as a composer, after having written two songs which appeared on Arik Einstein's 1972 album "Jasmine". Later they had collaborative albums together. Rehovot
Rehovot ( he, רְחוֹבוֹת ''Rəḥōvōt'', ar, رحوڤوت ''Reḥūfūt'') is a city in the Central District of Israel, about south of Tel Aviv. In it had a population of . Rivka Zohar
Rivka Zohar ( he, רבקה זהר, ; June 30, 1948) is an Israeli singer. Biography Rivka Zinati (later Zohar) was born and raised in Akko, Israel. Her father, Aaron Zinati, was a fire chief. Zohar studied in Akko, and in the agricultural school in Nahalal. Rivka's family is of Moroccan origins, having arrived in Haifa in the beginning of the 19th century. 1960s As a child, she appeared on '' Tshuot Rishonot'' ("First Applause"), a radio program aimed at the discovery of young talent. In 1967, Rivka auditioned to participate in Lehakat HaNahal, a popular Israeli army band, but was not chosen. Shortly thereafter, she successfully auditioned for the composer and producer Ilan Mokhiah. Ktzat Acheret
Ktzat Acheret or Ketzat Aheret ( Hebrew: קצת אחרת, ''A Little Different'') was an Israeli progressive rock band that existed between 1974–75. The band comprised Shlomo Gronich, Shem Tov Levi and Shlomo Idov. ''Ktzat Acheret'' is also the name of the only album that the band released. "Ktzat Acheret" began as a group accompanying Nurit Galron at the beginning of her musical career. After an independent show, the trio began a show trip around the country with songs that they wrote. The unique and original sound of the group, that was one of the unique progressive rock band considered in the country for that period, was being heard from Israeli musicians, but didn't succeed commercially. The lack of commercial success led to the dissolution of the band. Shlomo Gronich left Israel to seek a career outside the country and study music in New York City. Shlomo Gronich (born January 20, 1949; he, שלמה גרוניך) is an Israeli composer, singer, songwriter, arranger, and choir conductor. Biography Shlomo Gronich grew up in a musical family in Hadera. He holds a B.A. in Music Education from Tel Aviv Educational Academy, and a B.A. in Composition from the Mannes School of Music, New York City. He is married to Michal Adler, a harmonica player. He wrote a song called Shir Israeli. His composition "HarmoniCadence" is being played frequently by harmonica clubs in Taiwan. Bat-Sheva Ofra Haza ( he, בת-שבע עפרה חזה; 19 November 1957 – 23 February 2000), known as Ofra Haza (), was an Israeli singer, songwriter, actress, and Grammy Award-nominated recording artist commonly known in the Western world as " The Israeli Madonna", or "Madonna of the East". Her voice has been described as a "tender" mezzo-soprano. Gideon "Gidi" Gov ( he, גידי גוב; 4 August 1950) is an Israeli singer, TV host, entertainer, and actor. He was married to the late Anat Gov with whom he had three children. Biography Early life Gov was born in Rehovot, Israel, to Daniel and Tzipora Gov. As a child Gov suffered from asthma. Gov's father died when he was very young, which made his mother move with him from place to place, including Tel Aviv and Eilat. Growing up, Gov never dreamed of becoming a singer. When he enlisted to the IDF in 1969 Yair Rosenblum recommended that Gov be auditioned for the Nahal entertainment troupe. Gov passed the auditions and joined the Nahal entertainment troupe.
