Bat Yam
Bat Yam ( he, בַּת יָם or ) is a city located on Israel's Mediterranean Sea coast, on the Central Coastal Plain just south of Tel Aviv. It is part of the Gush Dan metropolitan area and the Tel Aviv District. In 2020, it had a population of 160,000. History British Mandate Bat Yam, originally Bayit VeGan (“House and Garden”), was founded in 1919 by the Bayit VeGan homeowners association, affiliated with the Mizrachi movement. The association was formed to establish a religious garden suburb in Jaffa. By March 1920, it had 400 members. In 1921, of land were purchased, of which 1,400 were formally registered by 1923. The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. İpek Soylu (born 15 April 1996) is a professional Turkish female tennis player. Soylu has won three doubles titles on the WTA Tour, her biggest coming at the 2016 year-end Elite Trophy. She has also won 12 singles and 18 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 31 October 2016, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 151. On 17 April 2017, she peaked at No. 63 in the WTA doubles rankings. Lina Glushko ( he, לינה גלושקו; born 12 January 2000) is an Israeli tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of 272 in singles, and 408 in doubles. Biography Glushko's USSR-born parents Sergio and Olga, sister Julia, and brother Alex immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 1999, one year before she was born. She graduated from Ironi Gimel High School in Modiin, Israel. She served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). She is the younger sister of Julia Glushko (10 years older), who was also a professional tennis player, and with whom she has teamed as a doubles partner. She was coached first by her father, and then by her brother.
