Sheila Grant
Sheila Corkhill (also Grant) is a fictional character from British soap opera, ''Brookside'' played by Sue Johnston. Sheila appeared in Brookside from the first episode in 1982 until the character's departure in 1990. Her most famous storyline was in 1986, when the character was attacked, raped and beaten by an unknown assailant. Everyone was a suspect, including family friend Matty Nolan ( Tony Scoggo), and most residents of Brookside Close found themselves accused. It was later revealed that the taxi driver raped Sheila. Character The Grant family consisted of Bobby (Ricky Tomlinson), Sheila, Barry (Paul Usher), Karen (Shelagh O'Hara) and Damon (Simon O'Brien). Rob Spendlove (born 1 May 1953 in London) is a British actor best known for his roles on British television. He studied drama at Middlesex Polytechnic, worked as a teacher and toured schools with a fringe theatre company. He has appeared in many television soaps and dramas. He played one of the original characters ''Brookside'', Roger Huntington, the husband of Heather Huntingdon played by Amanda Burton. Norman Eshley (born 30 May 1945) is an English actor best known for his television roles. Biography Eshley attended Bristol Grammar School and worked in a bank, before training as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He played many Shakespearean roles on stage. John McArdle (born 16 August 1949) is an English actor. He is most notable for playing Billy Corkhill in the soap opera ''Brookside'', with many other smaller appearances in other soaps and dramas. Frank Rogers is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'', played by Peter Christian. The character made his first on-screen appearance during the episode broadcast 1 December 1987 and remained in the show for an additional six years, being killed off in the episode aired on 5 November 1993. Development Frank, a lorry driver, had been promised a desk-job but failed to gain the promotion. The breakdown of their marriage deeply effects their youngest daughter Katie Rogers (Diane Burke). Barbara Marten (born 3 January 1947) is a British actress. She is most known for playing Eve Montgomery in ''Casualty''. She has appeared in various soaps, including Eastenders and Brookside, as well as many other drama serials such as ''Harry'', ''The Bill'' and '' Band of Gold''. Early life Marten was born in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, and grew up in County Durham.
