Sheikh San'ani Brigade
The Sheikh San'ani Brigade ( so, Guutada Sheekh Sancaani, ) was a highly trained Somali National Movement infantry which had a leading role in the Somaliland War of Independence . Legacy The Brigade under the leadership of Sultan Mohamed Sultan Farah led Somaliland's demobilization and disarmament process. Somali Republic
The Somali Republic ( so, Jamhuuriyadda Soomaaliyeed; it, Repubblica Somala; ar, الجمهورية الصومالية, Jumhūriyyat aṣ-Ṣūmālīyyah) was a sovereign state composed of Somalia and Somaliland, following the unification of the Trust Territory of Somaliland (the former Italian Somalia) and the State of Somaliland (the former British Somaliland). A government was formed by Abdullahi Issa Mohamud and Muhammad Haji Ibrahim Egal and other members of the trusteeship and protectorate administrations, with Haji Bashir Ismail Yusuf as President of the Somali National Assembly and Aden Abdullah Osman Daar as President of the Somali Republic. Somali National Movement
The Somali National Movement ( so, Dhaqdhaqaaqa Wadaniga Soomaaliyeed, ar, الحركة الوطنية الصومالية) was one of the first and most important organized guerilla groups opposed to the Siad Barre regime in the 1980s to the 1990s, as well as being the main anti-government faction during the Somaliland War of Independence. The Somaliland War of Independence ( so, Dagaalkii Xoraynta Soomaaliland, lit=Somaliland Liberation War) was a rebellion waged by the Somali National Movement against the ruling military junta in Somali Democratic Republic, Somalia led by General Siad Barre lasting from its founding on 6 April 1981 and ended on 18 May 1991 when the SNM declared what was then northern Somalia independent as the Republic of Somaliland. Sultan Mohamed Sultan Farah
Sultan Mohamed Sultan Farah ( so, Suldaan Maxamed Suldaan Faarax, ar, سلطان محمد بن فارح) was the sultan for the Arap clan, part of the wider Isaaq clan family and the first traditional leader to join the Somali National Movement. An influential figure who commanded the 10th division of the SNM and lead the demobilization process of the organisation in Somaliland. Somaliland Armed Forces
The Somaliland National Armed Forces ( so, Ciidamada Qalabka Sida ee Soomaaliland; ar, القوات المسلحة الصوماليلاندية, alquaat almusalahat alsuwmalilandia) are the military services of Republic of Somaliland.
