Shea Buckner
Shea Buckner (born December 12, 1986) is an American Olympian water polo player and actor. He is known for The Rookie (2023), The Blacklist (2021), The Equalizer (2021), Power Book II: Ghost (2020), Mom (2018), Animal Kingdom (2016), Survive the Night (2020), Get Christie Love (2017), Escape Plan: Extractors (2019), and Escape Plan 2: Hades (2018). He won two NCAA Championships while playing for the University of Southern California. He also competed for the United States national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Career High school Buckner played water polo at Villa Park High School, where he scored 364 career goals. He was named to the All-American first team twice. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship
The NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship is an annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate water polo. Beginning in 1969, it has been held every year except 2020, when it was postponed to March 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With a limited number of NCAA water polo programs at the national level, all men's teams, whether from Division I, Division II, or Division III, are eligible to compete each year in the National Collegiate tournament. The tournament was expanded from a four-team bracket in 2013 by adding two play-in games that are contested by the bottom four seeds, effectively creating a six-team bracket with a first-round bye for the top two teams. United States Men's National Water Polo Team
The United States men's national water polo team is the representative for the United States of America in international men's water polo. The team is the only non-European squad to win medals in the men's Olympic water polo tournament, most recently during the 2008 Summer Olympics, where they won a silver medal after losing the final to Hungary 14–10.
