Rashawnna Guy (born January 3, 1978), better known by her stage name Shawnna, is an American rapper. She was the first female artist signed to Def Jam South through Ludacris' Disturbing tha Peace Records. She is a former member of the female Chicago rap duo Infamous Syndicate and she is also the daughter of the blues musician Buddy Guy. She is known for her rapid-fire delivery and her sexually explicit image and lyrics. She is one of the few female rappers to ever have a number-one song on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, with 2003's "Stand Up" with Ludacris. Disturbing tha Peace Records (DTP) is an American record label founded by Ludacris, Jeff Dixon, and Chaka Zulu. History Beginnings Disturbing tha Peace was founded in 1998 by Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges, manager Chaka Zulu, and Zulu's brother Jeff Dixon. Christopher Brian Bridges (born September 11, 1977), known professionally as Ludacris (, homophonous with 'ludicrous' in American English), is an American rapper, actor, record producer and record executive. Infamous Syndicate was an American hip hop duo from Chicago, comprising the female rappers Rashawnna "Shawnna" Guy and Lateefa "Teefa" Harland. History Rashawnna Guy and Lateefa met at Lateefa's 17th birthday party in 1997. After scoring local radio play with their demos, they signed with Relativity Records, who released their lone LP, '' Changing the Game'', in 1999. "Stand Up" is a song by Ludacris, released as the second official single in 2003, and taken from his fourth album, '' Chicken-n-Beer''. It was his first number-one single, with production by Kanye West and co-production by Ludacris himself. The song topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for the week of December 6, 2003, and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart for four weeks, making it the rapper's first number one on both charts respectively. George "Buddy" Guy (born July 30, 1936) is an American blues guitarist and singer. He was originally known as Infamous 2-0 (on Ludacris's first two albums ''Incognegro'' and ''Back for the First Time''), but changed his name to reflect the interstate route that runs through the Southeastern United States.
