Lake Shawnee (New Jersey)
Lake Shawnee is a small private Lake located in Jefferson Township, New Jersey, United States. Its outsourcing is Beaver Brook, which flows into Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey's largest lake. Lake Shawnee and its watershed are the headwaters of the Musconetcong River watershed. The Lake Shawnee Reservation, as it is known, was developed in 1946 by the Arthur D. Crane Company of Sparta, real estate developers, which incorporated the Lake Shawnee Club and began selling home sites on the Lake many of which were originally summer homes. By 1948, the first two homes were built and during the next 15 years the Club reached its peak of 562 resident members. The clubhouse was then constructed and First Beach, not included in the original deeds, was subsequently purchased from the Crane Company with funds raised from within the membership. Shawnee State Park is a Pennsylvania state park in Juniata and Napier Townships, Bedford County, Pennsylvania in the United States. Shawnee Lake, a warm water reservoir, is at the center of the park as its main attraction. The park's main entrance is just east of Schellsburg, along U.S. Route 30 and about west of the county seat of Bedford.
