Shatskiy Hill
Shatskiy Hill () is a hill, 2,705 m, in the Dekefjellrantane Hills of the Weyprecht Mountains, Queen Maud Land. Discovered and plotted from air photos by the Third German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939), led by Capt. Alfred Ritscher Alfred Ritscher (23 May 1879 in Bad Lauterberg – 30 March 1963 in Hamburg) was a German polar explorer. A hill is a landform that extends above the surrounding terrain. It often has a distinct Summit (topography), summit. Terminology The distinction between a hill and a mountain is unclear and largely subjective, but a hill is universally considered to be not as tall, or as Grade (slope), steep as a mountain. The Dekefjellrantane Hills () are a group of rock hills at the southern end of the Weyprecht Mountains Weyprecht Mountains (german: Weyprechtberge) is a small group of mountains about west of the Payer Mountains, forming the western half of the Hoel Mountains in Queen Maud Land.
