Sharzhenga River
The Sharzhenga (russian: Шарженга, Шарженьга) is a river in Nyuksensky, Babushkinsky, and Nikolsky Districts of Vologda Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Yug. It is long, and the area of its basin . The main tributary is the Andanga (right). The river basin of the Sharzhenga comprises the northwestern part of Nikolsky District and is located in the Northern Ridge chain of hills. The source of the Sharzhenga is in the southern part of the Nyuksensky District. The river flows south, enters Babushkinsky District, and turns northeast. In the village of Logduz it turns southeast and enters Nikolsky District. Downstream from the village of Zelentsovo the valley of the Sharzhenga is almost continuously populated, and the forests on the river banks have been cut. Yug (river)
The Yug (russian: Юг) is a river in Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky District, Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky, Nikolsky District, Vologda Oblast, Nikolsky, and Velikoustyugsky Districts of Vologda Oblast and in Podosinovsky District of Kirov Oblast in Russia. Northern Ridge
The Northern Ridge, Northern Uvaly, Severnyye Uvaly (russian: Северные Увалы), is the chain of hills in the northern part of the East European Plain in Russia. The Northern Ridge divides the river basins of the Northern Dvina River (north) and the Volga River (south). The chain is located roughly in the west–east direction, between the source of the Kostroma River and the sources of the Vychegda River and the Kama River. The Northern Ridge is approximately 200 km long. Nikolsk (russian: Нико́льск) is a types of inhabited localities in Russia, town and the administrative center of Nikolsky District, Vologda Oblast, Nikolsky District in Vologda Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Yug River.
