Sharon Camarillo
Sharon Camarillo was inducted into the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in 2006. She is a four-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier in barrel racing. Life Sharon Camarillo was born Sharon Meffan in Southern California in 1948. She was interested in horses from an early age and took every opportunity she could to get near them and to ride them. After her father took her to the NFR in Los Angeles, California, she became interested in barrel racing. Her father thought she should take secretarial courses. Sharon did not agree. She found Pierce College which had secretarial courses and a rodeo team. She became proficient in roping and goat tying. She earned an associate degree. She was then drafted by California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California. Camarillo was the Cal Poly 1970 Champion Goat Tier. The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is located in Fort Worth, Texas, US. Established in 1975, it is dedicated to honoring women of the American West who have displayed extraordinary courage and pioneering fortitude. Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, also called RodeoHouston or abbreviated HLSR, is the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world. It includes one of the richest regular-season professional rodeo events. It has been held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, since 2003, with the exception of 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously held in the Astrodome. The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is a museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, with more than 28,000 American West, Western and Native Americans in the United States, American Indian art works and Artifact (archaeology), artifacts. The facility also has the world's most extensive collection of rodeo, American rodeo photographs, barbed wire, saddlery, and early rodeo trophies. Miss Rodeo America is an annual pageant to select the official spokesperson for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. ProRodeo Hall Of Fame
The ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy was opened in August 1979 as a museum designed to "preserve the legacy of the cowboy contests, the heritage and culture of those original competitions, and the champions of the past, present and future." National Finals Rodeo
The National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is the premier rodeo event by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). The NFR showcases the talents of the PRCA's top 15 money-winners in the season for each event. The NFR is held each year in the first full week of December, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada, United States.
