''Being Black in Toronto'' is a Canadian documentary series, which was broadcast by CBC Gem in 2020. The series consisted of six short documentary films by emerging Black Canadian filmmakers from Toronto, who had been mentored through Fabienne Colas's Being Black in Canada foundation. The six films shown in the series were Omolola Ajao's "YYZ", Valerie Amponsah's "Joseph, Margaret & I", Yasmin Evering-Kerr's "The Onyx Butterfly", Sharine Taylor's "Tallawah Abroad", Adrian Wallace's "Black Sun" and Yvano Wickham-Edwards's "#BLACK". A further four short films by filmmakers from Halifax were also subsequently broadcast under the title '' Being Black in Halifax''."Four Films Exploring Black Experiences in Halifax"

Fabienne Colas
Fabienne Colas Joseph, (born March 18, 1979), is a Haitian-Canadian actress, director and producer. She is head of the Fabienne Colas Foundation, which is dedicated to the promotion of film, art and culture as it organizes many festivals. Fabienne is also a recipient for the 2018 Canada's 40 under 40 award. Biography Fabienne Colas was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At a very young age, discovered her aptitude for theater, dance and a great sense of leadership. Standing at 5'8" tall, with a slender figure and waist, she became also a model at the age of 16 years. Being Black In Halifax
''Being Black in Halifax'' is a Canadian documentary film and television series, which premiered in 2020 on CBC Television and CBC Gem. Created in conjunction with Fabienne Colas's Being Black in Canada foundation, the series selects several emerging filmmakers each year to create and produce short documentary films about Black Canadian life and experience in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which are screened at the Halifax Black Film Festival before being broadcast as an episode of the CBC's '' Absolutely Canadian'' series and streamed on CBC Gem.
