Shari Roman is an American artist, author, screenwriter and director. Biography Originally commissioned by John Pierson for his Independent Film Channel (USA) programSplit Screen Roman's first short filmLars from 1-10about Danish Dogme film maker Lars von Trier won a slot at the Sundance Film Festival in 1999 and went on to screen at Edinburgh, London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, NYC's Museum of Modern Art, on television and in cinemas worldwide. American Film Directors
A film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the film crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design and all the creative aspects of filmmaking. The film director gives direction to the cast and crew and creates an overall vision through which a film eventually becomes realized or noticed. The Spot
The Spot, or thespot.com, was the first episodic online story (1995–1997), and covered bandwidth and production costs by offering paid advertising banners on the web pages and product placement within the journal entries. The site earned one of the original Webby Awards. Overview ''The Spot'' was likened to "'' Melrose Place''-on-the-Web" and featured a rotating cast of actors playing trendy and hip twenty somethings who rented rooms in a fabled southern California beach house called “The Spot”, in Santa Monica, California. Greg Weeks
Greg Weeks is an American singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia. His music has been described as folk, acoustic, psychedelic and experimental. He is best known as a founding member of the Psychedelic folk, psychedelic folk-rock band Espers (band), Espers. Weeks has released four solo albums and has guest-recorded with many artists, including Fern Knight and Marissa Nadler. He is also a member of The Valerie Project. In 2007, he founded the record label Language of Stone, an imprint of Drag City (record label), Drag City, along with his wife Jessica Weeks. His song "Made" was featured in Weeds (TV series), Weeds as well as the "Pink" adicolor video, which was directed by Charlie White (artist), Charlie White. Matthew Barney (born March 25, 1967) is an American contemporary artist and film director who works in the fields of sculpture, film, photography and drawing. The Conversations with Filmmakers Series is part of the University Press of Mississippi which is sponsored by Mississippi's eight state universities. The mission of the Series is to publish collected interviews with world-famous directors. Anthony Dod Mantle
Anthony Dod Mantle, (born 14 April 1955) is a British cinematographer and still photographer. He won the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Cinematography for ''Slumdog Millionaire'' (2008). Other accolades include two Bodil Awards, two European Film Awards, and four Robert Awards. Dod Mantle is considered a pioneer of digital filmmaking through his collaborations with directors Lars von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg and Danny Boyle, where he popularized the use of "action-style" handheld cameras over traditional, stationary 35mm rigs. A veteran of Dogme 95, he is heavily influenced by the ''cinéma vérité'' film movement. He is a member of the British, Danish, and American Society of Cinematographers, and resides in Copenhagen.
