Shara Nelson
Shara Nelson (born 1965) is an English singer and songwriter. She worked with Massive Attack in the early 1990s, and as a solo artist had five UK top 40 hit singles. Her 1993 debut album, ''What Silence Knows'', was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize. Career Early work Nelson's first release was the 1983 single "Aiming at Your Heart", which was credited to Shara Nelson & The Circuit. She then released her debut solo single, "Can't Get Over You", in 1986 under the name "Shara". Nelson released two further solo singles in the 1980s, "Standing Invitation" as Sharon Nelson and "Love's Hit You" as Shara Nelson. In the late 1980s, she began working with the Bristol-based DJ/production team The Wild Bunch, from who a spin-off production team/crew would form, named Massive Attack. 1990s Nelson's first release with Massive Attack was the single "Daydreaming" in 1990. Inside Out (Shara Nelson Song)
"Inside Out" is a song by British singer and songwriter Shara Nelson, released in November 1993 on Cooltempo Records as the third single from her first solo album, ''What Silence Knows'' (1993). In August 1994, it was re-released as part of a remix single with " Down That Road". A music video was produced to promote the single. Critical reception In his weekly UK chart commentary, James Masterton wrote, "Easily the most outstanding track from her album, "Inside Out" goes back to basics featuring just her voice accompanied by a pedal steel guitar, both swathed in echo as if playing in an empty hall. The result is the most heartbreakingly beautiful record you are likely to hear all year and tragically this may be as far as it gets." Upon the re-release of the single, a reviewer from ''Music & Media'' said, "A re-release, so here's a re-run of our view: upside down, inside out, backwards, whatever; as long as you play this "electricoustic" soul ballad you stay on the right side of p ...

One Goodbye In Ten
"One Goodbye in Ten" is a song by British singer-songwriter Shara Nelson, released in September 1993 as the second single from her first solo album, ''What Silence Knows'' (1993). Critical reception In his weekly UK chart commentary, James Masterton wrote, "Shara Nelson follows up July's No.19 hit " Down That Road" with a song which is a vast improvement on its predecessor. "One Goodbye in Ten" shows off her voice to dramatic effect, a ballad in the classic Motown sense, strings and all. If there was any justice this would be a massive hit. Sadly I fear most record buyers will be too insular to appreciate the brilliance of this track." Gavin Reeve from ''Smash Hits'' gave it four out of five, adding, "Once again Shara takes us down that road to a time when singers could actually sing and musical instruments didn't go bleep. A real jeans commercial of a record that holds your hand and whispers "come on, you know you want to". Mellow with a capital mmm..." Jonathan Bernstein from ''S ...

It peaked at number 19 on the UK Singles Chart, reached number one on the European Dance Radio Chart, and became a top-20 hit on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart. Critical reception In his weekly UK chart commentary, James Masterton wrote, "Shara Nelson makes her Top 40 debut with a fairly standard piece of pop-soul but with continued airplay may well breach the Top 10 if she is lucky." Andy Beevers from ''Music Week'' gave it four out of five, describing it as "a classy song that grows in stature the more you hear it." He added, "Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne's Perfecto Mix is surprisingly funky while Frankie Foncett opts for the soulful vocals. It has been getting a positive club reaction, but its chart potential will dépend more on radio exposure." Paul Moody from ''NME ...

Safe From Harm (song)
"Safe from Harm" is the third single and opening track from ''Blue Lines'', the 1991 debut album from British trip hop collective Massive Attack, with vocals by Shara Nelson and Robert Del Naja. The bass, guitar, and drums are sampled from the song "Stratus" by Billy Cobham, from his album ''Spectrum'' (with guitar by Tommy Bolin). Pop Music
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. The terms ''popular music'' and ''pop music'' are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many disparate styles. During the 1950s and 1960s, pop music encompassed rock and roll and the youth-oriented styles it influenced. ''Rock'' and ''pop'' music remained roughly synonymous until the late 1960s, after which ''pop'' became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible. Although much of the music that appears on record charts is considered to be pop music, the genre is distinguished from chart music. Identifying factors usually include repeated choruses and hooks, short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), and rhythms or tempos that can be easily danced to. Much pop music also borrows elements from other styles ...

Paul McCartney
Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is an English singer, songwriter and musician who gained worldwide fame with the Beatles, for whom he played bass guitar and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. One of the most successful composers and performers of all time, McCartney is known for his melodic approach to bass-playing, versatile and wide tenor vocal range, and musical eclecticism, exploring styles ranging from pre–rock and roll pop to classical and electronica. His songwriting partnership with Lennon remains the most successful in history. Born in Liverpool, McCartney taught himself piano, guitar and songwriting as a teenager, having been influenced by his father, a jazz player, and rock and roll performers such as Little Richard and Buddy Holly. He began his career when he joined Lennon's skiffle group, the Quarrymen, in 1957, which evolved into the Beatles in 1960. Sometimes called "the cute Beatle", McCartney later invo ...
