Shannon Woeller
Shannon Elizabeth Woeller (born January 31, 1990) is a Canadian soccer defender who plays for IF Brommapojkarna in the Damallsvenskan. College career Woeller played high school soccer for Prince of Wales Secondary School in her native city. She then went to Rutgers University, where she played from 2009 to 2013. Club career While still at school and college, Woeller played for Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Seattle Sounders in the W-League In the spring of 2014, she left North America and signed with Norwegian Toppserien club IK Grand Bodø. In 2015, she went to play at Stjarnan, at Iceland top-tier league. On January 26, 2017, Woeller signed up with FF USV Jena, where she replaced countrywoman Rachel Melhado, after more than a year without a club. After FF USV Jena was relegated from the Frauen-Bundesliga following their last place finish in the 2017–2018 season, Woeller announced she was joining Eskilstuna United DFF in the Damallsvenskan in Sweden. The Norway women's national football team is controlled by the Football Association of Norway. The team is former European, World and Olympic champions and thus one of the most successful national teams. The team has had less success since the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. The 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup was the 4th edition of the tournament. It was held in Chile between 19 November and 7 December 2008. The 2008 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship was the 4th edition of the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by CONCACAF for the women's under-20 national teams of the North, Central American and Caribbean region. The top three sides also earned qualification to the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. The tournament was held from June 17 to June 28, 2008. The Frauen-Bundesliga (German for ''Women's Federal League''), currently known as the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of league competition for women's association football in Germany. In 1990 the German Football Association (DFB) created the German Women's Bundesliga, based on the model of the men's Bundesliga. It was first played with north and south divisions, but in 1997 the groups were merged to form a uniform league. The league currently consists of twelve teams and the seasons usually last from late summer to the end of spring with a break in the winter. The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). USL W-League (1995–2015)
The USL W-League was a North American amateur women's soccer developmental organization. The league was a semi-professional, open league, giving college players the opportunity to play alongside established international players while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. Damallsvenskan
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place.
