Shankhonad
Shankhonad ( bn, শঙ্খনাদ, ''Wail of the Conch'') is a 2004 Bangladeshi drama film directed by Abu Sayeed. It stars Zahid Hasan, KS Firoz, Nazma Anwar, and Fazlur Rahman Babu. Plot Osman returns to his ancestral village on a stormy night, the same village he had fled in the dark of the night 27 years ago. He finds shelter in the home of Mannaf Khan, a village elder. Osman seeks to rediscover his childhood and goes about reliving the past through childhood memories. He meets Kunjo Buri who had nursed him as an infant. He also meets his boyhood friend Fazlu. Osman is not after worldly gains, he wants to spend the rest of his life in the village, and relive the nostalgia of bygone days. That, however, is not to be. Junaid Halim is a Bangladeshi film actor and editor. He is also one of the renowned professors of film studies in Bangladesh. Abu Sayeed (born 1962) is a Bangladeshi film director, screenwriter, and television producer. As a filmmaker he has made six full-length features and two short films, some of which have received 6 national and 4 international awards. Biography Sayeed graduated from United High School, Naogan, and then attended Government Azizul Haque College. In 1987, at the age of 25, Abu Sayeed made his first film, the short ''Aborton''. It was released the following year and won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Short Film. Sayeed started work on his second short film, ''Dhushar Jatra'', in 1989. It was released in 1992, and also won the National Award for Best Short Film. Nazma Anwar
Nazma Anwar ( – 14 December 2004) was a Bangladeshi film and television actress, and drama activist. She performed in Bengali films including ''Hajar Bachhor Dhore'' (2005), ''Dukhai'' (1997) ''Joyjatra'' (2004), '' Shonkhonil Karagar'' (1992), ''Chittagong: The Last Stopover'' (2000), ''Shankhonad'' (2004) and also in television drama plays including ''Iblish'', ''Kothao Keu Nei'', and ''Tahara''. Zahid Hasan
Zahid Hasan (born 4 October 1965) is a Bangladeshi film, television and stage actor. He has been working as an actor in the show business arena of Bangladesh since the 1990s. He is also a TV commercial model. He was awarded Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film '' Srabon Megher Din'' (1999). Career Hasan was part of a theatre group for several years before moving to television in 1990. KS Firoz
Khandaker Shaheed Uddin Firoz (known as KS Firoz; 7 July 1946 – 9 September 2020) was a Bangladeshi actor. Background and career Firoz was born in Wazirpur, Barisal in the then Bengal Presidency, British India. He was brought up in Dhaka's Lalbagh area. Firoz joined the Bangladesh Army in 1967, and reached the rank of Major before retiring in 1977. He was active in the Dhaka theatre circuit, and got his breakthrough in ''King Lear''. Fazlur Rahman Babu (born 22 August 1960) is a Bangladeshi actor and singer. Nasreen Jahan (born 1966) is a Bangladeshi writer and literary editor. She came to notice with the publication of her novel ''The Woman Who Flew: Urukku'' in 1993. Mahfuzur Rahman Khan, aka, Mahfoozur Rahman Khan (10 May 1949 – 6 December 2019), was a Bangladeshi cinematographer having received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography a record breaking ten times during his career.
