Shane Fitzsimmons (footballer)
Shane Fitzsimmons (born 24 December 1955) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. He also played for West Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Fitzsimmons was just 17 years old when he made his Melbourne debut, having come to the club from Kyabram. He spent much of his time in the VFL as a half forward flanker and despite playing 14 games in his first season, made only 30 appearances over the next four years. In 1978 he finally put together regular games and was sixth in Melbourne's Keith Truscott Medal count, after playing a total of 17 matches and averaging 15 disposals for the year. Kyabram Football Club
The Kyabram Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Bombers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Kyabram, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL). Kyabram was a foundation club in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL) and has been one of the most dominant. Only the Shepparton Football Club have won more premierships. The club had a successful era the 1920s, when they won five GVFL premierships, including the Kyabram Reserves winning the senior football premiership in the Northern Goulburn Football Association in 1929. The club has produced many VFL/AFL footballers, including Ross Dillon, Garry Lyon and Brett Deledio. The West Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Falcons, is an Australian rules football club located in Joondalup, Western Australia. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Medal
The Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player(s) adjudged the best and fairest at the Melbourne Football Club throughout the Victorian Football League/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL) season. The Melbourne Football Club was established in 1858 and was a foundation member of the Victorian Football Association, playing in the league from 1877 to 1896. After the formation of the Victorian Football League in 1896, Melbourne joined the league as a foundation club the next year and has competed in the league ever since.
