Shane Clayton
Shane Clayton (born 24 October 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy Football Club, the Brisbane Lions and the North Melbourne Football Club, Kangaroos in the Australian Football League (AFL), including their victorious 1999 AFL Grand Final, 1999 Grand Final. Originally from the Northern Knights Football Club, Northern Knights, Clayton debuted in the AFL for Fitzroy with whom he appeared 13 times. Clayton was one of eight players to transfer to Brisbane when Fitzroy's AFL operations were taken over by the Brisbane Bears, and he played five games with Brisbane Lions, Brisbane over two seasons before moving to the Kangaroos. Northern Knights Football Club
The Northern Knights is an Australian rules football club playing in the Talent League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based in Preston, representing the northern suburban area of Melbourne. The Knights are one of the six original clubs set up as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft, which allows U18 players the opportunity to be selected by AFL clubs. Northern Knights have had many of their players drafted into the AFL, including the first two selections in the 2007 AFL Draft, Matthew Kreuzer and Trent Cotchin, and the fifth selection in the 2008 AFL Draft, Michael Hurley. 2000 AFL Season
The 2000 AFL season was the 104th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured sixteen clubs. It ran from 8 March until 2 September, scheduled as the earliest season in history to avoid a clash with the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
