Shame, Shame On The Bixby Boys
''Shame, Shame on the Bixby Boys'' is a 1978 Western Comedy starring Monte Markham and written by William Bowers. Plot While on his way to the gold fields Mordecai ended up for the past year hanging around a somewhat lawless settlement as Deputy to an over the hill Sheriff who when he isn't reminiscing about past glories pursues carnal pleasure by wooing a local wealthy widow thus far to no avail. The deputy handles any gunfighters who enter town, mostly with shooting skill but sometimes instead with guile. His best friend Doc is the world's worst dentist, often having to evade irate patients after pulling the wrong tooth. Trilby his semi-girlfriend harbors matrimonial designs and is the only child of a prosperous feed and grain store owner who openly disdains his daughter's choice of suitor. William Bowers
William Bowers (January 17, 1916 – March 27, 1987) was an American reporter, playwright, and screenwriter. He worked as a reporter in Long Beach, California and for ''Life'' magazine, and specialized in writing comedy-westerns. He also turned out several thrillers. Career Bowers' first play was ''Where Do We Go From Here?'' that ran for 15 performances in 1968. RKO Bowers signed with RKO. His first credited screenplay was '' My Favorite Spy'' for Kay Kyser in 1942. Also at that studio Bowers helped write the musical comedy '' Seven Days' Leave'' (1942), which was a huge hit, and ''The Adventures of a Rookie'' (1943) with the team of Carney and Brown. He also did '' Higher and Higher'' (1943), Frank Sinatra's first movie. Twink Caplan (born December 25, 1947) is an American actress, comedian, and producer. She is best known for her roles in the box office hits ''Clueless'' and the ''Look Who's Talking'' series. Lee Garmes, A.S.C. (May 27, 1898 – August 31, 1978) was an American cinematographer. During his career, he worked with directors Howard Hawks, Max Ophüls, Josef von Sternberg, Alfred Hitchcock, King Vidor, Nicholas Ray and Henry Hathaway, whom he had met as a young man when the two first came to Hollywood in the silent era. Monte Markham (born June 21, 1935) is an American actor. He has appeared in films, television series and on Broadway. Early life Markham was born in Manatee County, Florida, the son of Millie Content (née Willbur) and Jesse Edward Markham Sr., who was a merchant. He attended Palm Beach State College before graduating from the University of Georgia with a master's degree in theater.
