Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya is a steel hypercoaster roller coaster located at PortAventura Park in Salou and Vilaseca, Spain. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, it was the tallest () and fastest () coaster in Europe at the time of its opening. The height and speed records were beaten in April 2017 by Red Force (with a height of ), which was also opened in PortAventura World in its new theme park Ferrari Land. Among coasters with a lift hill, the height and speed records were beaten in July 2018, when Hyperion opened at Energylandia in Poland. Dragon Khan is a steel sit-down roller coaster located in the PortAventura Park theme park in Salou and Vilaseca (Tarragona), Catalonia, Spain. Dragon Khan boasts eight inversions, which was a world record until the opening of the ten-inversion Colossus in Thorpe Park, United Kingdom in 2002. The ride, built by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), opened on May 2, 1995 and was one of the two roller coasters present upon PortAventura's opening. Silver Star is a steel roller coaster located at Europa-Park, a theme park in Rust, Germany. The coaster has a height of and a drop of 67 meters (220’), placing it in the hyper coaster category. At the time of its opening, ''Silver Star'' was one of Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M)'s tallest coasters constructed; in 2012, they surpassed themselves with '' Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya'', at Barcelona’s PortAventura Park, with a height of 76m/249’. A brake run on a roller coaster is any section of track meant to slow or stop a roller coaster train. Brake runs may be located anywhere along the circuit of a coaster and may be designed to bring the train to a complete halt or to simply adjust the train's speed.
