Shakhter Karagandy
Football Club Shakhter ( kk, "Шахтер" футбол клубы, Shakhter fýtbol klýby), commonly referred to as FC Shakhter Karagandy ( kk, Қарағанды/Qarağandı ;Russian: Караганда/Karaganda), is a professional football club based in Karagandy, Kazakhstan. They have been members of the Kazakhstan Premier League since its foundation in 1992. History After reaching third place in 1995 and 2007, their first championship was won in 2011. Before this they were one of the leading Kazakh teams in the football of the Soviet Union. On 18 September 2006, Brazilian forward Nilton Pereira Mendes died after collapsing during a training session with the club. On 19 September 2008, Shakhter and Vostok were disqualified from the Kazakhstan Premier League for playing a fixed match, club coaches and management involved were banned from football for 60 months. 1992 Kazakhstan Premier League
The 1992 Kazakhstan Top Division was the inaugural season of the Top Division, now called the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan. League format Originally planned 25 teams in total. But withdrawal of Metallurg after couple of games and which results were annulled cut Group A one team fewer. It was split into two stages. In first stage two groups of 11 and 13 teams were formed. In second stage the best seven teams of each group joined together to play in a final group for positions 1 to 14. The rest of the teams played in a group for positions 15 to 24. Teams played against each other on home-away basis in their groups. Final standings of teams did not count the results of the first stage. 2020 FC Shakhter Karagandy Season
The 2020 FC Shakhter Karagandy season was the 30th successive season that the club played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. Shakhter Karagandy finished the season in 4th position and as a result qualified for the 2021–22 UEFA Europa Conference League. Season Events On 13 March, the Football Federation of Kazakhstan announced all league fixtures would be played behind closed doors for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 17 June Vyacheslav Hroznyi his role as manager by mutual consent, with Konstantin Gorovenka being appointed as his replacement the following day. On 26 June, it was announced that the league would resume on 1 July, with no fans being permitted to watch the games. Vyacheslav Viktorovych Hrozny ( uk, В'ячеслав Вікторович Грозний; born 12 July 1956) is a Ukrainian football player and manager. Career He is a holder of the 1980 KFK Cup of the Ukrainian SSR as a player of FC Nyva Ternopil when it used to play in Pidhaitsi. Hrozny is a graduate of the Lutsk Pedagogical Institute and the Higher School of Coaches in Moscow. Since the late 1980s coached number of clubs in post-Soviet countries. Until his appointment with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the mid-1990s, Hrozny coached as an assistant to a head coach. In 1997, he was suspended from coaching in Ukraine and moved abroad. Nikolay Kostov ( bg, Николай Костов; born 2 July 1963) is a Bulgarian football manager and former footballer who most recently managed Shakhter Karagandy. Career Much of his coaching career has taken place in Cyprus. His first coaching role in the country was at Anorthosis, where he won the Cypriot Cup in 2002.
